Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Lucas.
Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up dancing at Impact Dance of Atlanta from the age of nine all the way through high school. Shortly after high school is when I began teaching at the studio. I taught for 10+ years and then became the owner/artistic director of Impact in 2017. I absolutely LOVE still being a part of the studio as it has been a huge part of my life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not always been smooth. The biggest obstacle thus far was in 2020, during the pandemic. Who knew I’d be faced with over a year of teaching virtual classes? Trying to teach dance through a computer while navigating such big financial losses was really, really tough. I learned a lot that year, though, and now I’m prepared if it ever happens again. Hopefully, it won’t!!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own a dance studio and I am a dance instructor/choreographer. Our studio is known for being a faith-based dance and performing arts studio. We have highly qualified and professional instructors and offer high-quality training for all ages. We offer all styles of dance, as well as vocal and piano classes, keeping the music/choreography/costuming family-friendly, as well as glorifying to Christ. I am most proud of our annual Christmas production “Impact Takes Manhattan”, which definitely sets us apart in our area. We put on a top-notch, extremely professional and high-quality Christmas production every year that blows people away! My husband, Noah, is a professional lighting director and his lighting for our show is absolutely phenomenal. It really takes it to the next level. Combine that with our outstanding dancers, the choreography, & the storyline, and it is a dream come true. I am humbled and honored to set such an incredible work of art on stage & to share my passion for dance with the community.
