Community Highlights: Meet Jenaye Peterson of JM Law

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenaye Peterson.

Hi Jenaye, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am an attorney here in Atlanta, Ga. I was born and raised here, so
I’m a genuine Georgia peach. I graduated from Banneker High School in 2008 and thereafter attended Georgia State University and graduated with my bachelors in business administration in 2012. My final stop in my collegiate journey was law school where I graduated cum laude at North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina in 2015.

I launched JM LAW LLC at the beginning of the pandemic. It was a true act of FAITH considering I had never lived through a pandemic and was highly uncertain how things would unfold. Prior to the pandemic I was already set to launch on April 1st, 2020 so I had to make a decision if I would proceed forward or hold off. Well, my Pastor, Vincent Campbell of The Faith Center in Tucker, GA was doing a series called “JUMP” at the time and this series lasted a few weeks and as much as I wanted to throw in the towel and just put the launch of my law firm off until a better time the gems and knowledge he was dropping week after week during this series was boosting my confidence and my FAITH to just GO FOR IT so I did just that. I launched on April Fool’s day which is funny because many thought it was such a foolish act considering the circumstances but I have settled over one million in client settlements for the two years I have been in existence so the joke isn’t on me-LOL! so we opened the law firm on April 1st and we didn’t open virtually we moved into our own office space one month later, (May 1, 2020) located at 1001 Virginia Ave Suite Atlanta, GA 30354. Things are going great and we are excited for the continual growth of our firm.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I must say that prior to opening my law firm there were many challenges I faced but after opening things were steady but it didn’t take long for us to build traction as most of our business comes from referrals and word of mouth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My law firm is on the south side of town, by the airport. We specialize in personal injury, small business litigation, and expungements. I call myself the Gamechanger because we give second to none game-changing legal representation. We treat our clients like family and are BIG on communication with our clients which is the #1 complaint people have with law firms today. We have a 5-star rating on google and the reviews say it all. I am really thankful that my law firm name and brand is starting to create some buzz as we are seeing a significant increase of referrals and invitations to speak and be interviewed, all opportunities I am so grateful for.

How do you define success?
Success is in the eye of the beholder but for me being able to have the freedom to make my own schedule and do what I love to do without sacrificing quality time with my family and loved ones all while making money without a glass ceiling, allowing me to live the life I want is what success is to me.
