Today we’d like to introduce you to Armani Renee’.
Hi Armani, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m 25 years old, I’m m a fellow Aquarius and I’m a hair stylist, creative, spiritualist & entrepreneur! I started doing hair around the age of 10 years old after watching my older cousin do hair in her salon, she would never really have time to get me in so I started doing my own hair with the knowledge I learned from her and gained clientele from my peers in school. It was a bonus because I was able to help my mom out with bills, we struggled at a point and it felt really good to finally be able to help out around the house. I remember my small bedroom was like a salon my mom would always praise me on how professional I was and having clients rotate in and out of my chair at such a young age.
Fast forward I graduated from Pike high school early class of 2015, I went straight to college for my freshman year for nursing and then decided I wanted to pursue my career in the beauty industry. I went to cosmetology school at empire beauty school & Graduated in 2017, it was difficult but I made it! Once I graduated hair school, I got into a salon right away and gain massive clientele at 19. I eventually had celebrity clients such as Jhoni Blaze from love and hip hop, Fever WBNA players, Alexis Skyy and more just starting at the age of 19 and I’m now 25! 2020 is when I officially launched my business Mane Fantasy Boutique LLC. Started out with selling beauty supply such as wigs, bundles, lace glue and more and then added my high-demand skincare collection “Sacred Essentials”. I gain over $20k my first launch & sold out the same day.
My social media began to skyrocket especially on TikTok before I knew it I reached 100k followers within months. I must say I am very abundant and show the upmost gratitude to be able to do what I love while helping the people I love & my community; giving back is my main priority I know how it is to struggle not to have anyone to help you. My story has had a lot of pain & darkness but I learn to transmute that energy into a positive to better me and my future. I’ve broken 3 bones both hips when I was ten years old that cause me not to be able to walk I still have trouble sitting and walking sometimes and broke my wrist at 21 from a really bad car accident that caused me to have a major pause on my career it sent me in a really dark place again but I pushed through it! Hopefully, my story helps and inspires someone to never give up on your dreams no matter what life throws at you. You have the power to choose what you want out of life not anyone or anything can stop you but YOU! Remember to always be kind and pay it forward always remember love is the purest form of energy so spread love and positive vibrations throughout the universe. Never limit yourself, if you want to try new things or do multiple things do it I’m a prime example of the sky isn’t the limit go beyond!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road by far many challenges came along, such as my mental health, family, school was stressful and work trying to balance the two and I lost a very special person to me we’ve known each other since where we’re about 15-16 years old. We had a deep conversation before he was murdered by the IMPD 2 days later, he told me how proud he was of everything I’ve accomplished and how he sees my vision. He talked how he wanted to invest into my career he talked about getting a old house fixing it up to make it a salon for me and and have my art hanging on the walls, he constantly pushed me to be the best I can be and uplift me at my lowest. I had a hard time grieving but it’s gotten better I just remember his words of encouragement and his voice in my head telling me not to give up so everything I do is dedicated to him, DREASJON REED.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m most proud of being in the beauty industry because it’s a reward to see my client’s reactions to their transformation i When they look in the mirror. I love making others feel good inside and out and to see them smile after helping them realize how beautiful they are, it’s an uplifting feeling. What sets me apart from most is that I’m patient & transparent, I make my clients feel comfortable and most importantly being myself I always said the best way to be is authentic because that’s when people will know the true you.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The advice I have for starting out is to find something you truly love to do and turn into revenue what’s better than making a living doing what you love? Understand that there may be bumps in the road but that’s ok it’s getting you prepared for what’s best to come to have faith & have patience. In the words of Nipsy Hustle, “it’s not a race, it’s a marathon” never feel like you have to rush to get to where someone else may be, that’s their story. Everything happens in divine timing for you, so therefore enjoy the ride and take a deep breath and focus you got this. Because in the end, it’ll all be worth it. Life’s a learning experience!
