Today we’d like to introduce you to Felisha Draggs.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began hosting the Back 2 School Bash eleven years ago. I saw a need in my community and God gave me the vision and I went forth. I didn’t have a nonprofit business at the time but God showed me that if I just followed his instructions and be obedient to what he say then I will see the vision come to pass. I knew how it felt trying to get your children what they needed for school when you only had one income. I trusted God with what he gave me and now eleven years later I’m still going strong with the event. At one point of my life, I didn’t think God had any use for me because so much was happening in my life. I lost three siblings and my mother became ill so I begin to ask God what was my purpose.
My purpose is to help others to get to their next. I am an author and the name of my book is My Healing from My Brokenness and it’s my testimony how I gain a relationship with God, I was tired running from him in 2016 I begin to run to him because of so much that I’ve been through. God healed my brokenness and I always say that he can do it for you as well. I became a life coach last year of True Perspective Coaching where I teach a class on Declutter the Heart in order for you to receive your new you have to let the old go. You cannot continue to fill your life up with the news when you have released the old. In Mark 2:22 KJV and no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.” I don’t just help adults Declutter I also help youths to Declutter as well. The youth are our future and in order for them to be great leaders, they need to know how to let those things go. Don’t give up on your dreams because one day everything you prayed for you shall see it. The motto that God gave me was #KeepPressing #Keep Pushing #KeepPraying no matter what it looks like, it will come to pass; you just have to believe and have faith.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been at all. The struggle was trying to get others to see the vision that God gave me a d to truly buy into the vision and help push it. When God gives you a vision, you will always need others to help you push it all the way through.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I love helping others and making everyone have what they need. I’ve been working with youths since 2004. I don’t know that this was my calling until years later. I’m very passionate about the youths, teaching them and guiding them back on track. I’m known for never giving up on someone and always helping, giving and loving others. I’m most proud of not giving up on myself. When I became a teenage mother, I continued to go to school, when I didn’t graduate with my class, I went back that summer and graduated; when my marriage was falling apart, I continued to press in when my only sister and younger brother passed not even two years apart and wanted to give up on life I found God so I’m proud of myself for never giving up.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, that you can live without having others around and how not to depend on others.
