Check Out Luis Miguel Prato Mestre (EzMoney)’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Miguel Prato Mestre (EzMoney).

Hi Luis Miguel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My taste for music began at the age of 6-7 years old and by that time I was listening to Hip Hop music thanks to friends. I grew up in a neighborhood in Spain with high urban influence (in every sense of the word). During that time, the influence of Rap music was at its peak; so much so that my friends at the time whom I’ve grown up with listened to Hip Hop as well. Thanks to this constant influence from urban music, I developed my taste for music. I should add that my family was a great contributor to the “artistic” side of me. Everyone in my family is soaked with art in one way or another, particularly one of my cousins who was a musician. He had many instruments including a drum set which really piqued my interest and just so happened to be the first instrument I had started to play at the time.

Consequently, we quickly moved on to my adolescence which was a key ascendancy of the man I am today. I then developed a taste for classical music including soundtracks of Hans Zimmer and musical pieces from R&B. At about 15, I bought my first mixing desk. Thanks to the fact that I frequented many discos for minors, my inclination for music made it a great idea to practice it even in recreational places during my adolescence. The music I made at that time was more on the electronic side rather than hip hop. My interest in that style seemed to fade in hand with the occasional DJing I was doing at the time, although my interest and love for music did not fade one bit. I took up American hip hop and trap for a change at the age of 18/19 thanks to a friend who introduced me to FL Studio (a DAW used for creating music) which I immediately loved. Ever since I’ve been using it for my music. I started to make trap instrumentals in the style of 808 Mafia and Southside from 808 Mafia.

At that time, contemporary to my beginnings in the production of instrumentals, I decided to start from scratch. After 20 years of living in Spain, I moved to my hometown in Latin America, Colombia. When I arrived, I dedicated myself to networking and trying to establish relationships in the music industry. During this process, one artist in particular named Lil Baby caught my attention. His sound inspired me to make these kinds of instrumentals. His sound originated from Atlanta, Georgia and is known for its orchestral type musical instruments that make up their distinguished melodies. Once committed to music production and with a clear field in which I wanted to emerge, I knew I had to adopt a name that represented me so I looked back on my life and came to my adolescence, adolescence that had prevented jobs in which I got “easy money”.

At age 15-16 is when my name “EzMoney” was born and with my name finally set in stone, I decided to make my music label called “Three Hundred Mafia”. I then started to do more collaborations with producers who shared the same style as me and I improved my networking abilities to finally start working with artists in the city, which I still do to this day. I continue to work with recognized and emerging artists/producers. With that being said, my most prominent goals in the music industry include producing a song for my favorite artist Lil Baby and win an award (Billboards).

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Everything has gone well, the only problems I have had have been a loss of motivation in some moments.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Music Producer, my sound is focused on the Trap scene. I am known for my unique sound influenced by different musical genres such as classical music, electronic, r&b, and rock… my greatest achievement so far has been to create my own label (Three Hundred Mafia).

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
For networking.. just try to build real relationships. A shout out to my brother Darryon Bunton (DB!*) who inspired me to create and improve myself in the music industry.
