Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Dinkins.

Rachel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always been passionate about empowering people through health, beauty, and glamour. Often I have been asked to share what I do to get beautiful natural hair. I am excited to share my secret through Rachel Indira Hair Care.

Growing up, I struggled with eczema and an extremely flaky dry scalp. I found that most existing products could not eliminate my frizz, dryness, and flakiness all-in-one. For years, I researched the essential ingredients to develop an effective all-in-one hair care system that could hydrate, rejuvenate, and revive the hair and scalp.

I founded Rachel Indira Hair Care in March 2020, when the world went into quarantine. During the lockdowns of the Covid-19 pandemic, no one could go to their hair salon, but every woman still wanted her hair to feel and look healthy. I wanted to make it easy for every woman to style her hair beautifully at home. I launched the first drop of Rachel Indira Hair Care in June 2020, unveiling a new generation of luxury hair care that is organic, vegan, cruelty-free, sulfate-free, and paraben free. Rachel Indira Hair Care has evolved to offer signature formulas for every hair type.

In August 2022, I expanded the collection further, turning Rachel Indira Hair Care into a luxury lifestyle brand with the release of the Rachel Indira Hotel Collection candles that evoke the sensual feeling of a five-star hotel experience at home. The three decadent scents of the Rachel Indira Hotel Collection each create a distinctive vibe inspired by the experiences at luxury resorts and the transformative feel of amazing hair.

I am planning to continue expanding Rachel Indira Hair Care through new additions to the collection and more distribution channels.

Today Rachel Indira Hair Care continues to sell direct to consumers through rachelindira.com, profashionhair.com, and pop-up shops in Atlanta at Lenox Square, Sugarcoat, and Splash Studios.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I knew that starting a successful new hair care line was not going to be easy. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work, persistence, dedication, passion, strategy, research and development. There were countless sleepless nights. I was determined to deliver only high-quality products that would be effective all-in-one hair care solutions.

Launching Rachel Indira Hair Care during the pandemic was challenging on multiple levels, with the disruption of the global supply chain, the scarcity of raw materials, the extended delays in manufacturing and distribution, and the temporary closure of virtually all brick and mortar businesses.

In spite of these unprecedented challenges, the first and second drops of the Rachel Indira Hair Care collection sold out within 48 hours online. I am absolutely grateful for the continued support from all our customers and the local businesses that have promoted Rachel Indira Hair Care.

We’ve been impressed with RACHEL INDIRA LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RACHEL INDIRA LLC sets itself apart from other hair care brands. As the CEO & Founder, I have spent many years searching for the perfect hair care line that gives hair a unique strength, glow and shine. Not only are we delivering results of healthy hair but we incorporate high-quality ingredients that are free from Sulfates, Parabens, PEGs, Dyes, and Mineral Oils. We are vegan-friendly and animal cruelty-free. People would always compliment my hair throughout my natural hair journey and wanted to know what my secret was. Now, I am happy to finally share that secret!

Our vision for the brand is to keep elevating and evolving. This also includes adding more products to the collection as well as extending hair care accessories. I don’t necessarily see myself having a brick and mortar store as retail is also evolving. Our foundation is our online community and our customers love the easy access of logging onto a computer and ordering directly from us. However, we are going to eventually expand to include vending machines which will be easily accessible for travelers at airports, hotels and shopping malls!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
There are so many things that I love about Atlanta. I love its amazing food, its entertainment industry, and how Atlanta has become a destination where black and brown entrepreneurs thrive.

The thing that I like the least about Atlanta is its traffic. But that only means we are a growing city!
