Life & Work with Raheem “BLAQ” Morris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raheem “BLAQ” Morris.

Hi Raheem “BLAQ”, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in DUBLIN Ga. I moved to Atlanta shortly after getting out of an abusive marriage. I have done music since I was about 13 years old but my passion left and finally came back almost four years ago now. I have been using many platforms to gain exposure in my craft such as reality shows and podcasts. About two years ago I grew a passion for skin care based upon people’s reactions to my skin. I would be asked several times what regimen did I use for my skin and I would answer by saying, “I just drink water!” I knew of regimens that I used for my kids and this is what birthed K3.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I have faced many obstacles in the past few years. I have gained and I have lost but I never gave up. I’ve even had to leave some people behind but that’s a part of growth. If anyone says this journey is easy either they were given an opportunity or they are lying.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My primary career path is music. I’m not just a rapper or singer. I am an Artist! I have recently become fond of acting and reality tv as well. I am so proud of every project I have been a part of from “set it off ATL” to “G-Status ATL Hustle” and “Misfits” sometimes I sit and just watch how far I’ve come and I’m so glad that I do not look like what I’ve been through. What sets me apart from others is that I am UNAPOLOGETICALLY ME. I don’t worry about others I focus on me and only me because no one can live my life for me I have to do that and in that, I want to be very proud of every moment of my life.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I have been checking out a few podcasts lately such as Dj Akademics Podcast and I’m liking what I hear. Most of my encouragement comes from the people who are around me though. Like my good friend chef Erica Barrett and Chrissy Harrison. These two people have been inspiring me tremendously just by their grind and ambition I love to see it and they are so supportive of my dreams and any information I need to get to where I want to be in life I can trust they will never lead me astray.
