Exploring Life & Business with Keisha Taylor of Taylored Elite Estates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Taylor.

Hi Keisha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The road to a real estate company didn’t start there I actually fought this calling for a while. I was a social worker for years and I also had a tax business. Real estate always interested me due to the stability and the assets it provides to families. When I purchased my first home, I did all of the research on the homes prior to seeing. My agent said, “Keisha, what do you need me for?” My response was, “ I need you to open the door.” She told me I needed to think about a career in real estate then. That was during the market crash and I was sure the timing was wrong. I continued college at that time. Nine years later, my friend Shawonna Ferguson, whom is an agent at Taylored Elite Estates, and I decided to finally take the class and pursue real estate part-time on the side. I was an agent for Berkshire Hathaway for four years. Early 2020, I resigned from my job and pursued real estate full-time. It wasn’t easy I was really scared to rely on strictly commission-based income. There were high and low months. I remained myself, continued to improve via education and prayed. In 2021 I accomplished my broker’s license and opened our Michigan office. I knew by my birthday in 2022 I wanted to open an office in Atlanta, Georgia as it’s the only other place I’ve called home besides Michigan. I’ve gotten to where I am today by integrity. My clients and agents trust me to do what I say I will do and keep their best interests at heart.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely had highs and lows. Real estate is a commission-based industry. I had to learn to budget my money as some months I take home 5 figures others are much less. I also put a lot of time into building agents. All of my agents except for one are new to the industry so we have lots of training and support. The highs are definitely the growth we have had in such a short time. In one year, we have opened offices in 2 states and we have signed 7 agents. The peak of highs is helping our clients obtain their real estate goals.

We’ve been impressed with Taylored Elite Estates, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is Taylored Elite Estates; we are a full-service lifestyle real estate and property management company. How do you think about luck?
I don’t know about luck but definitely God! God has allowed our business to grow and succeed! I have been lucky to have a great support system of family, friends, colleagues and clients.
