Meet Franchesca Cintron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Franchesca Cintron.

Hi Franchesca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I loved being a creative from a very young age. From grade school through college I would always find myself wanting to express myself through creativity. For instance, writing poems, joining the choir, writing my own songs in high school, being in the creative writing club, etc. It wasn’t until 2015 when I moved to Atlanta that I started really pursuing music. Fast forward after getting saved and giving my life to Christ, I would then go on to write songs about what was happening during that transformative time in my life.

Fast forward, I would continue to write and write. Then I would hear an audible voice from God speak to me and say, “Don’t die with these songs in you.”

That was a defining moment in my life. A moment where these songs became more that just creativity and expression. But, I had a calling, a clear directive & purpose that was from God to share these songs with the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth. A few struggles along the way included finding my sound, learning more about music & singing in a technical sense, getting connected/finding resources and building strong relationships in my arena of the music community. But God also gave me reassurance in these areas because I was so hesitant to start because of my lack of knowledge of how to start. He would reassure with just a few words, which were, “Just put one foot in front of the other.”

This helped in so many ways for me because it helped me simplify the destination to simply a journey. A journey that would unfold as each step was completed. This process has been humbling and definitely caused me to fully trust in the Lord to show me where to go. And, when there is another bump in the road, I remember that still small voice saying, “don’t get overwhelmed, just put on foot in front of the other and I’ll do the rest.” I’m grateful for this.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Christian songwriter, singer/artist. I primarily make songs that would resonate with an R&B sound. My music specializes in a relatable message. A message that speaks with transparency and vulnerability. I open myself up in my writing to share my struggles, what I’ve overcome and my victories. I’m most proud of being able to encourage people from all over the world through just that. Who knew from what started as just a passion of scribbling in my composition notebook in the 7th grade would unfold to numerous testimonies of people finding deliverance and peace and so much more through the songs God has placed inside of me.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very outgoing. I actually still am. I was outspoken, confident, independent, I ran to the beat of my own drum. I was very talkative as I still am today. I would often get “excessive talking” on my progress report. What can I say, I had a lot on my mind! Lol. I loved to be a friendly, loving person. Some would call me a peacemaker from a very young age. I was always a creative and critical thinker. I had my own opinions and takeaways from situations and wasn’t afraid to own that. I would get in trouble sometimes for being a bit too outspoken at times. Ha! As I write this, I see not too much about me had changed!
