Today we’d like to introduce you to Bluthecreative.
Hi Bluthecreative, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been in love with music since I can remember. My mother was always playing a record, whether on the car rides to and from school or during Saturday morning cleaning sessions. Before I was singing, I was humming and creating melodies just for my own entertainment. I used to get kicked out of class for singing during lessons. The teacher saw it as disruptive but looking back at it now, it was discovery for me. That’s when I realized I could entertain others with my voice. I just picked the wrong time to do it as a child. I began to take music serious by my freshman year of college. I was a lead singer and songwriter in a band, the experience opened doors to other musical ventures.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I can say the road was smooth, but where is the truth in that? Just like anything worth having, being an artist comes with ups and downs. I’ve experienced a lot of rough times pursuing my music career. I faced many disappointments and cried many tears. However, it’s the game that makes the trophy worth it. A struggle of mine was finding the confidence to sing in front of others alone. Although I was a lead singer in a band, when I went solo I began having stage fright. I didn’t feel comfortable singing by myself. I couldn’t understand why I got so nervous by myself but not when I was with the band. I realized that I had to find my own voice again. I had to find my own confidence and get back to me. After time with myself and my art, I was able to tap back into myself. Despite the rough times, I have grown from the test and trials.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I always smile when asked this question because I never have just one answer lol. I have coined the name Bluthecreative on my social media platforms because I consider myself an overall creative. Whether it’s music, hosting, podcasting, fashion, I wear many hats. My first love however, was music. “She” is the catalyst to most of my creative endeavors. Before I was singing over instrumentals, I was writing over them. I fell in love with the writing process and I found out I was good at it. I am most proud of my writing skills. I feel like my connection with the “pen” sets me apart from many. Writing music isn’t rocket science, however there is a secret to writing that even the writer themselves doesn’t know. I call that divine. I was never formally taught how to right songs, it honestly came out of nowhere and it evolved. I believe my writing skills and music style sets me apart. My voice and style cannot be formally defined, and I love that.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important characteristic to my success would be patience. When I started doing music, I thought success would come after I released my first solo project. Boy was I wrong. As a matter a fact, I never thought that I was impatient at all until I took music seriously. I began wanting to often speed up the process. Especially when it came to learning instruments, I would get frustrated often when certain notes wouldn’t come out right and I would want to throw the whole instrument away. But the more patience I built up, the more opportunities came my way.
