Today we’d like to introduce you to Channon Coleman.
Channon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been baking for over 10 years beginning in 2012. My first signature dessert was a strawberry cheesecake cupcake. After years of profitable business ideas I pursued, baking was the one that fully brought me joy in doing. I Love it sooo much! Baking is very therapeutic for me and it brings me in-measurable happiness!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Properly calculating production time was a slight struggle. I wanted to please everyone in the beginning and would take on back-to-back orders. It was draining me. But I’ve found a flow that works best for me and for my clients.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an all-around baker. Nothings too big of a task for me and I Love a challenge! I currently specialize in cookies and rice crispy treats. I’m known for my Just Butta’ peanut butter cookie that’ll knock your socks off! I specialize in only using all-natural ingredients. Nothing with artificial dyes and I only use Kosher-verified products.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see myself owning multiple brick-and-mortar businesses in top tourist attraction cities. I’d also like to one day offer nationwide shi dress piping of my dessert products. I also want to branch out to offering basic baking skills classes to those interested in starting their own bakery business or would just love to partake in baking as an everyday hobby.
