Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Agren.
Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a 21-year-old Atlanta native. Right now, I attend Georgia State University and I am pursuing my marketing degree. Eventually, I’d like to be a big marketing executive for a lingerie company and possibly, my own podcasting brand. Some of my hobbies include modeling, journaling, meditating, and going on nature walks. My sign is a Pisces and honestly, we are just like, the absolute best! Before I was able to be so determined in the journey I have been in, I had to go through trials and tribulations. For instance, I was very shy growing up despite the fact that everyone gawked at how beautiful I was. It was always hard for me to recognize the weight I had when it came to my looks simply because at the young age, I was so focused on who I am internally. I enjoyed and dedicated to being funny, smart, and a good person WAY before I was ever concerned at where or how far my looks could get me far. Education and those I love/loved were more important focal goals as just a young kid. Growing up though, I became just a tad bit more interested in my own looks and I knew at a certain point, I wanted to model. You can even take a look at my Facebook, I was a selfie-taking queen while I was still in middle school on my Blackberry, that was definitely a hand-me-down from my mother. I had a desktop in my room as well too, so that only enhanced my posing and picture-taking skills even more. I eventually get an iPhone and well, the game changed.
Fast forward, as life just progresses, I end up in Carrollton, Georgia where I attended the University of West Georgia for a brief period of time. I decided to put myself in an organization called Models And Business, where I eventually started my passion and paper trail of modeling. My first shoot was with @thenomadiceye, who has been nothing but an amazing supporter to my passion. He really got me in the door and other photographers shortly reached out, trying to do shoots with. I eventually have freelanced since then and have met MANY creatives in the Atlanta and metro area. Some examples of those photographers are, @vividparker, @gioelegantphotos, @miles_theshooter, @afshots and so many more. Honestly, I have been blown away by the people I have met and their own stories. You guys should definitely check them out! Now, I am signed with JB Studios, which is a mother agency and have been working on building my portfolio to get more paid bookings and also learn from many different creatives on their techniques. As someone who has struggled with depression and just life, I am proud of all the hard work has paid off, that I am at a point where D’vonte Burke (@dvonteburke, another great photographer) put in a request to have a magazine do an interview to tell your story. Honestly, 2023 is going to be our year and I can’t wait for everyone to get what they deserve!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, no. I have never had it easy up until now. Even now, there is some struggles but I have gotten better at learning how to cope with the dealings of life. I have had an extensive history with depression and anxiety. This is why I never personally preach perfection online or to anyone in my life. It takes a lot of work as someone who struggles with a mental disorder to continue the passage of life and not feel extremely bad in every move you make. There are days where I genuinely just want to cancel everything and ghost. Back then, I was an extreme flake to many things and people in my life because of how much I just didn’t want to socialize or do anything for myself. There was a lot of opportunities I lost in those dark times but at least I learned the lesson to appreciate the opportunities when it presents itself. I am thankful though that my family was there and the experience of battling with depression since I was 7. My mom and siblings are probably my biggest reason why I keep going and push through the bad. There are plenty people who inspire me to keep going in my daily life as well too.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I mainly model and a hustler. I am in school right now pursuing a marketing degree so that way I can enhance businesses and help them gain the attraction to shop with that business. I also model on occasion or when I have time to create and shock the nation, lol. I also work sometimes as a server at a restaurant/lounge. I’m most proud of the way I have met a lot of people and created good experiences and met people who have helped my platform grow and even myself. I genuinely feel like I have met a lot of good people in the industry and who really has love for their model and/or passion. To be able to have a supportive atmosphere is the most important thing to me.
What sets me apart from others is how real I am and how peace means everything to me but I will never allow someone to disrespect me. I am super determined and I want to see everyone win. I am just a nice girl honestly, I never have animosity or want to hate on the next person pursuing their dreams!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My dog! He practically saved my sanity. His name is Culli and the way I got him was simply fate. Someone was giving him away for free and ever since then, he has been a true compassionate companion. Also seeing the people around me happy and achieving their goals makes me happy, as it reminds me why to keep going.
