Hi Pretty Rico Bandz, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From Disney to Diddy to Rnb Crooner. I started when I was a kid with my family. Everyone is animated and talented in my family singing and playing instruments. Being the youngest I picked up traits for everyone until I went to my first audition for Disney.
Became a singer and Actor with Disney on the Disney Channel Rocks show and was taught how to be a professional. When the contract ended I moved to Atlanta where I landed my first movie role as Puff Daddy in All Eyez On Me. Because of the familiarity with portraying Diddy, I was then hired to portray him again in the Snapped episode about Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. All while musically was being managed by Yung Joc.
After moving on from Yung Joc I released an EP under the artist name Pretty Rico Bandz called “Pink” that got a lot of attention and most recently released a full-length album titled “Prettier” that’s over 200,000 streams.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest Struggle is having a vision as a singer and getting everyone to understand what you are doing, & why you’re doing it. Everyone doesn’t do TikTok songs, Rap is a dominating genre and singers are no longer in a separate category so it’s difficult for Rnb to get the look it deserves.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m proud to be a multi-threat. As someone that’s excelled in the acting word, the Music world, a songwriter and producer I’m blessed and proud of where I’ve been and what I’ve done. A lot of people can’t say that so I’m thankful every day.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is defined by the satisfaction of the mission you set for yourself. If you make a plan and it works that’s success.
