Daily Inspiration: Meet Cierre Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierre Jones.

Cierre, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A Young girl moved to Atlanta, GA in 1999 from Rochester, NY. This would start my journey in the arts and entertainment. My parents moved to Mableton, GA and enrolled me in the Micheal A. Grant Boys and Girls Club. Here I was introduced to dance teams, step teams, cheerleading, karate, acting, modeling and speech competitions. This would showcase my hidden talents and become the start of amazing life opportunities. In elementary, I joined chorus, band and played lead roles in plays. All of this experience shaped my passion for the arts as the arts became my life. In middle school, I was a part of a 1st place-winning step team, as I continued to dance (competing in talent shows), sing and play an instrument. I was awarded “Most Talented” girl at the end of middle school.

Next was high school and I went the sports route. I was a competitive football and basketball cheerleader, on the step team, ran track and danced on the side. There was never a season where I was not active. This landed me being awarded at Kennesaw State University with the “Most Athletic” girl award for Pebblebrook High school of Performing Arts. Nothing had changed since middle school but shaped what I would continue to do in college. I went on to get my bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Armstrong Atlantic State University. There I was a competitive and basketball cheerleader, as well as a dancer. I ended college as a cheer captain and now it was time for the real world. I was kinda lost for the first two years out of college because I was no longer doing any sport. I didn’t know where to began a professional career in the arts.

After two lost years, I joined Atlanta Dance Exchange and began my professional dance career. I have performed in weddings, fashion shows, behind music artists, in music videos, for Bronner Brothers’ hair show, and much more. In 2018, I became a children’s hip hop dance teacher at two dance companies. There I choreographed routines and competed in Georgia and attended national dance competition in Florida. 2020 hit and I decide to switch paths. I stopped teaching dance, performing and decided to write a children’s book (Curlinas Journey To The Curly Girl Cafe) and try new business ventures. Eventually, I stopped and asked God to direct my path. I have always been a content creator on Instagram and YouTube, focusing on my big curly hair and fashion, but never grew to where I wanted to be.

In 2021, my faith grew stronger and I asked God to give me something in the arts that would help others and this led to me taking TikTok seriously. I have not missed a day for over a year now of posting content. I am a fashion influencer with over 130,000 followers, helping young girls and women dress for their body shape. I find a purpose in this and help build confidence that still takes me by surprise. I created five ebooks for every women’s body shape, that is located in my social bio. I have even worked with many brands, hair, fashion and much more. This is only the beginning of my dreams and I thank god for giving me such gifts and ideas. All of this experience has got me to where I am today. ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ‭”For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When you have many talents, it is hard to navigate which one you should truly be focusing on. I wanted to be an artist, putting out one song, but always had this pull of what does God want me to do. You tell yourself you don’t want to wake up one day and regret not going for it. As a professional dancer and actress, you do many auditions and get told no. Starting a business can be hard and sales can be a hit or miss. It can sometimes make you feel like just staying at your corporate job is your best bet. I know that isn’t my destiny, and I will continue to follow God’s plan for me. TikTok has definitely gave me the confidence that I am closer to my goals but can get discouraging with changes in the algorithm that may stunt your growth and views. I’m not a quitter, so as long as God gives me the ability to press forward not struggle with prosper.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a full-time research Lab Technician and a full-time content creator. I specialize in fashion, styling women for their body shapes. I have written five ebooks to help make getting dressed less stressful and more exciting. I am known for dancing, my curly hair, modeling, and being an all-around triple threat. I still dance for different events and have been a part of short films as of lately. I am most proud of my will to never give up and my drive and ambition. I’m not scared to just try and see where anything takes me. What sets me apart from others is keeping my faith first and not wanting to conform to society’s way of doing things. I am creating my own way through God’s direction.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My Mother, Celeste Gordon, has been the number one supporter in anything I have wanted to do. She has never stopped me from going after anything and of course funded most of my activities growing up.

My Father Sean Jones has also encouraged me to do anything I wanted to do and helped fund activities and equipment needed to reach my goals.

My brothers Nigel Jones, Tosean Jones and Cooper Jones for being my reasons to strive for success and generational excellence.

My Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousin and family for supporting me in all that I do. It is truly a blessing to have a large family.

I have had so many coaches through my life who have truly helped shape my talents. I want to thank them here for all they have done! I enjoyed each of you as a coach and will cherish my teams forever. All coaches at Micheal A. Grant Boys and Girls Club. RiverSide Elementary, Bryant Elementary, Pebblebrook High School, and Armstrong State University

My close friends, accountability partners and creative partners. I say thank you! They keep me inspired and motivated to push forward even when I’m not at my best. I love having like-minded friends in the dance and acting community that pushes each other to never give it.

Lastly, my followers and supporters. They play a huge role in keeping me inspired to bring content out every day. They are kind and give me the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. Without them, there would be no content creator.

God truly deserves all the credit. He is always there on time and has blessed me with many gifts, so I will always give him all the glory.
