Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlyn Kennedy. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Born in Milwaukee, Wi A Girl Name K. knew music would rule her life. The granddaughter of the late: Jesse Hauck. Since the age of 13 is when A Girl Name K. decided music was her interest of choice. She started her recording career in the heart of Nashville, Tn. Winning a host of talent shows in the middle Tennessee area AGNK gained a name and buzz quickly. Relocating to Murfreesboro, Tn where her fanbase started out of. Tragedy struck when AGNK was gunned down & shot twice cause her to lose her left lung. Being life flighted was a scare as she fought hard for her life! Although I endured many difficulties as being told I’d never sing again AGNK was determined. Slight voice changes which had me thinking I wasn’t good enough was all the ammunition I needed! After surviving and success with American Idol although she ditched the opportunity, AGNK headed to Atlanta, Ga in 2015 to pursue her music career! Officially going international in October 2023 representing Atlanta, Ga things are surly looking great for AGNK, the future and her longevity in the music business & industry. She released her first successful single with BeatRoot (independently) in December 2021 with views surpassing 500k! Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall I’m GRATEFUL for the hood and the bad. Being shot twice changed me drastically. Witnessing my best friend get murdered right in front of me gave me a new narrative on life. You have high’s and then there’s the lowest of the lows. I’ve had a sprinkle of everything. It’s been a ride and one hell of an experience. I wouldn’t trade anything on my journey to completing my 10,000 hours that I dedicated so eagerly. Being RELENTLESS was the force in my motion. Knowing I had something to say and I wasn’t going to stop until I’m here was the motive! Protecting my mental health was first. I demand seeing my name not only in big lights but on the biggest marquess and alongside the greatest of the greats!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am “The raper that sings with one lung”! I do everything my musical heart desires! I love a good RnB ballad.. being a Gemini I e also always been the life of the party! I specialize in making a vibe no matter the location or narrative! I love everybody for FREE! I’m known for sannnging a good tune with that feeling in it! If your hairs don’t stand up on your arms something ain’t right. I’m a mix between: Lauryn Hill, Left Eye, Mary J with a sprinkle of Missy Elliott because dance is LIFE!
I’m most proud of my biggest accomplishment which was going international in October 2022 landing my first international performance & the biggest urban music conference in Rotterdam, Netherlands. I’m the first in my generation in my family to travel overseas for singing! Special thank you to Henca Mondora & New Skool Rules & the legendary Troy Taylor!
My energy for sure sets me apart from the masses! My story is one of one & heartfelt! My live performances are unmatched and memorable! The love I GIVE is undeniable. What I stand for is unmatched’
How do you think about luck?
Everything is ALWAYS working out for me. Even when it seems like it doesn’t IT IS!!! I accept life as it is because it’s an experience. I AM always grateful & abundantly blessed. I’m interviewing with Voyage Atl… This is a huge accomplishment for me being independent. Luck seems to reside at my place! My perception only sees the hood and greatest in all that I do.
