Exploring Life & Business with Adrienne Carci of Life in the Moment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Carci.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Of course, thank you for the opportunity to share! I began my journey with Life in the Moment out of both necessity and passion. After experiencing so much healing in my own personal mindfulness journey, I needed to share it with people. In 2017, after unintentionally getting pregnant with my now 5-year-old son two months after my Dad died of a massive stroke, my mind was constantly spinning. I was on a rollercoaster of grief, joy, fear, exhaustion, and disconnect, and knew I needed guidance, but traditional silent, seated meditation wasn’t productive for me.

I began learning about different mindfulness practices and energy work at a healing retreat and immediately knew I wanted to help people experience the feelings of calm and balance I was beginning to feel. As a former Social Worker, mindfulness, meditation, conscious parenting, and energy work are the perfect modalities to allow people to find that balance in a way that resonates with them.

I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to use practices like sound healing, energy work, meditation, movement, and breathwork to guide people of ALL ages in living a life with more emotional regulation, focus, quality sleep, and joy. I offer a variety of sessions so that I am able to work with people in the ways they need, both in person and virtually:

– Weekly group sessions
– Private individual sessions

– Family mindfulness sessions

– School and Homeschool workshops
– Office sessions

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely! I don’t know of anybody who has had a smooth road the last few years, so there were definitely some bumps. I began Life in the Moment 6 months before the pandemic, so naturally, that comes with its own set of obstacles for a primary parent and brand-new business owner. Adding in the discovery of a massive mold issue at our house and the journey of remediation and detoxing my son and I, it has been a wild ride. One of the most important foundations I teach is that we have to intentionally seek joy and balance amidst the waves, so we focus on that daily. Finding joy isn’t ignoring the tough stuff that may be happening to or around us, but it can definitely make it easier to work through.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’d love to. Life in the Moment focuses on giving people of all ages the opportunity to learn about mindfulness. I believe in honoring all of the different emotions we can carry at one time, so some of the practices I teach are more unconventional, like using a punching bag, listening to our favorite music really loud, wiggling extra energy out, and safely smashing things. I also still have a soft spot for the more traditional practices like sound healing, guided meditation, and breathwork because different things resonate with different people on different days- myself included. Being able to meet people anywhere on their journey, connect with them, and offer them a safe space to learn, heal, and grow is one of my favorite aspects of this “work”, if you can call it that. Having the opportunity to work with families, adults, schools, and offices adds a wonderful amount of variety to what I get to do on a daily basis.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’ve learned that intentionally seeking joy, balance, and gratitude, even in moments that feel overwhelming, is one of the most important parts of healing. Heavy or uncomfortable things may always be happening in or around us, so understanding our emotions and energy helps to balance out the light and dark. We honor all emotions and sometimes need reminders that we can experience them simultaneously. I would love to connect with anybody who has questions or needs about the beautiful world of mindfulness!
