Hidden Gems: Meet Kaiya Webb-Ramseur of KaiPlus5ive

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaiya Webb-Ramseur.

Hi Kaiya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my entrepreneur journey about ten years ago. I wanted to be an MUA more than anything but my love for math and since guided me into a different direction in the beauty field. Seven years ago, I pivoted from doing the glam to making the glam; lipsticks in my parent’s home. I researched and gathered ingredients from TKB trading & just went for it.

From that moment, Kai Cosmetics was born! I then transformed from TKB trading ingredients to creating my own from scratch with plant-based ingredients! I’ve formulated eyeshadow, concealer, lipsticks, glosses, mascara & much more for those with sensitive skin. I also curated a CBD skincare line under Kai Cosmetics but soon created its own line called Jawns With Cannabis with face bars, body washes, lotions & even dish liquids, laundry detergent & all-purpose cleaners!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The ride hasn’t always been smooth. Building an idea from the ground up takes tons of courage, research, time, effort, tears & stress! Lol Learning which ingredients do and don’t work together, finding the right consistency, color payoff, researching herbs and oils for skin & hair benefits takes A LOT of work. Being in customer service also teaches you so much about people and their needs. Providing a great service to an array of different personalities can be challenging but rewarding at the same time. There are days where you make 5-10 sales and days where you don’t make any sales.

My overall brand name is KaiPlus5ive; named after myself & my five beautiful children! Under our brand, we have three up-and-running businesses & one more on the way!

Kai Cosmetics: Plant-based cosmetics line specializing in lipsticks, lip glosses, vegan bristle brushes & more. We’ve also stepped into the hair industry and offer bundles!

Jawns With Cannabis: CBD sink, hair & bawdy care line! We have a variety of face bars that combat hyperpigmentation, aging skin, dehydrated skin & more! We also have products that help with hair growth, eczema, psoriasis & face/body acne!

Jawns With Graphics & Designs: Website development, social media graphic designs, logos, resume revamp & more.

We’ll soon be starting a staffing agency called 5iveOnIt Staffing! We’ll be hiring work from home agents soon!
