Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvetta Sweat.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Atlanta, raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. I’ve always enjoyed serving others and giving back to my community. I worked in public service for a little over ten years in various fields, Administrative and Dispatching first responders. I’m a mother of three girls, A set of twins girl Caleah & Chrisette 9, and Laiya 1. While pregnant with my youngest I experienced a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in my lungs) and was hospitalized in May of 2021. In June of 2021, my mother passed away from a brain aneurysm and 6 months later my brother was shot and killed. The year of 2021 was very devastating, a year I’ll never recover from but it was also a wake-up call. We never really know when our last days may be. While on maternity leave, I decided I’d like to serve my community in my form of love language which is food and started 323 Cuisine. I began to reach out to private chefs, restaurant owners, and business owners. Also with the help of friends and loved ones my business email, website domain, LLC were established. Within my first year, I’ve served over 100 clients, catering events, dinners, meal preps and so on. I truly enjoy cooking and preparing food for others and my business allows me the flexibility of scheduling events around my family’s schedule.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I still struggle with grief very often. A smell, location, an item. So many random things can become triggers at any time. But the goal is to make my family proud, I see red cardinals all the time that are reminders to keep going. I’m also learning to run a business on my own. I’m over marketing, website design, social media, food photography, quotes/inquires, as well as preparing meals 75-100 on my own. I’ve learned I can’t do it all on my own. Hire help. If you can find good people or others in the business that are capable of completing a task efficiently, resource what you can.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Catering and Private Chef. I specialize in all things food, 323 Cuisine offers various food items. I’m known for my Mac and Cheese, Grilled Salmon, Philly cheesesteak Egg Rolls and more. I’m most proud of being a mother, starting my business and willpower to keep going no matter what life throws my way. I keep going. What sets 323 Cuisine apart from others is my customer service. The food is great and so is the customer service and presentation. I take pride in my work.
What matters most to you?
Family. They are my why and motivation behind my business.
