Hidden Gems: Meet Jasmyne Hill of JassProductions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmyne Hill.

Jasmyne Hill

Hi Jasmyne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Cosmetologist. I graduated from Aveda Institute located in Hoover, AL. I’m an all-around cosmetologist, I specialize in braids and facials, I’m certified to do lashes, I can make wigs, as well as just being an all-around cosmetologist. I want to do everything in the beauty industry. All my life, I’ve been fascinated with the beauty industry. On January 19, 2019 I decided to follow my passion and started my brand Jassproductions with only doing braids. As time passed, I graduated high school in May 2019 & immediately went to cosmetology school after. I graduated from cosmetology school on January 16th, 2021, and I’ve flourished in multiple streams of the beauty industry since then.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, I’ve had many bumps in the road along the way in running my business. There was moments I wanted to give up multiple times and quit, but it was also in those moments I had to pray and ask God for guidance. I sometimes feel like I’m nowhere I should be with my business like I should be further in life than I am. My mom passed on Nov. 24th, 2020, and that was a Major effect in my life and it made me look at life differently. One of my biggest lessons I’ve learned is that my time is not the same time as someone else’s; I just have to stay true to myself, be consistent and trust in God’s timing. I’m very thankful for everything I’ve been through because I wouldn’t be where I am today. Everything I’ve been through has made me into the amazing businesswoman I am today.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Jass Productions is a one-stop shop businesses. I started my business by doing my own hair (braids) for school pictures. I literally sat in the bathroom and braided my hair with three different mirrors, I went to school and everyone loved the outcome and that day forward, I started taking clients from my school, only charge $50-60 a head. Not knowing this was about to be my lifestyle! I know specialize in braids, facials, lashes and still ongoing for more! I’m mostly known for my work with being a braider. I wanted to expand my business more by doing lash extensions so I took a class and got certified on Sept. 6, 2020. I plan on expanding to be a multi-talented entrepreneur in 2023-2024 by adding a few more services. My ultimate Goal is to have a one-stop shop for everything in the beauty industry. What sets me apart from others is me being myself. Being honest, loving, positive and patient, as well as being generous. I believe having a great heart and a great personality plays a major role when running a business. Give what you want to receive!
