Community Highlights: Meet Jerry Mceachin of Next Level Sound

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerry Mceachin.

Hi Jerry, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been doing music my whole life. I grew up in church choir then transitioned to playing saxophone all throughout middle and highschool. My junior year of highschool I started teaching myself to play drums which lead to me joining different bands. One of them ended up getting signed to a major record label which helped me break into the industry. Being a drummer, I was already beat-oriented so I began producing and creating music with my friends. Ultimately this paved the way to me starting my business Next Level Sound LLC. Ive now been producing and recording other peoples music for 6 years and counting.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Without going into detail, there’s been many ups and downs. Countless sleepless nights. A lot of trial and error to help me find my way. Had to sacrifice a lot of time and energy to get to where I am. I’m blessed to be able to do what I love so I pour my heart and soul into everything I do. I’ve had every reason to give up but something inside keeps me going. I understand that what we’re creating is bigger than me and will open a lot of doors for others. That keeps me motivated and allows me to continue to see the vision regardless of what happens. Over the years, I’ve learned to take my losses as lessons. Use them as an opportunity to grow and move smarter.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Next Level Sound is a recording studio located just north of Atlanta, GA. We take pride in bringing an artist’s vision to life! Over the last six years, I’ve been blessed to work with a lot of talented individuals. I provide a safe space for people to come and create in. We specialize in hip hop/ R&b styles of music. With that being said I’ve worked with hundreds of different artists and in seven different languages so I welcome everyone! I personally enjoy working with singers because they tend to not get the best experience in other studios. Seeing their face light up when they hear their voice for the first time in the booth here is always priceless. With the name Next Level Sound I set a high standard for what leaves the studio. I would say what sets us apart is that we genuinely care about the product being created. Allowing the artist to be represented well and to stand out in the industry. We offer audio engineering and producing services. We are open 24/7 by appointment only. We just opened a new location that has other amenities aside from recording music as well. Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I always had a love for music. From going to shows every weekend to eventually playing shows every weekend. I was always looking for new music, the LimeWire days before streaming was available. One of my favorite music memories growing up was when my granddad took my brothers and I to record a song together when we were young.
