Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Shadaria Allison.
Dr. Allison, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as most girls do. Big dreams of love, family, and stardom. Instead, I experienced life lived through the spirit of brokenness and poverty, teen pregnancy, social injustice, encounters with God, and eventually change.
These experiences pushed me into a whirlwind of personal evolution; that evolution propelled me into advocacy and advocacy into multi-dimensional business pursuits, literature, and a sense of organic purpose.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life was and is as it should’ve been: a practiced experience. In 2023, no one we know is without a story of peril. I believe that personal hardships did nothing but qualify the excellence I harness. The dirt gave me grit. The things that almost destroyed me became doors to destiny. Had I not endured religious, mental, and emotional abuse; I would not be able to value myself. Had I not endured gut-wrenching heartbreak and surviving homelessness and disillusioned dreams: I’d not understand how to be a pillar in communal environments. Had I not had my tongue glued to the roof of my mouth from belly-aching tear fests; I wouldn’t have become a voice as a 10-time International Best Selling Author. Had I not learned to find the light in me after all I’d seen, I wouldn’t ever become a sought out consultant, writer, and creative strategist. So, it all gets used as gains. My struggles paid me back well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Vocationally known for my writing and various marketing abilities, I am happy to have trail-blazed a career in “bio-writing” and creative consulting. However, my passion; the thing I am most proud is the pending initiative I have created around God and people. “Married2theMission” is an advocacy group centered around the future reformation of “church” as we’ve known it in America. Mental illness, poverty, drug addiction, abuse, etc. have plummeted both our local and now national community, and it’s time we respond in a tangible way through a reputable vessel; the church. Through my vernacular of writing, I create books centered around future plans to talk church reformation with the governmental bodies, faith-based communities, and health care professionals; in order to provide real help to our hurting nation.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Love. The best response to a world gone wild is love. We have to come out of ourselves for one moment; take a good look at our society, our nation, and our world to ask ourselves; does this remotely look like God’s idea of life? The short answer being “no”. I believe now is the time to extend our love through TANGIBLE ACTION and seek to repurpose the church’s participation in our nations “clean up”. Which ultimately will be its reform. Jesus didn’t sit in a Temple for giggles and messages. He went looking for the love of God and the hands toward people. Isn’t it time that we fight back with love? Isn’t it time we got to the real intention of “church” which is to heal the sick, broken, homeless, hurt, rejected, etc? Well, time is now! I have an idea. I’ve written a couple of books about it. I am about to write another, and I’ll need the love in action from some dope women who wanna see this world changed!
