Inspiring Conversations with Diasia Williams of Dia Talks Mindfulness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diasia Williams.

Diasia Williams

Hi Diasia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a Children’s and adult book author, as well as a Certified Life Coach and Mental Health Advocate who has a platform- Dia Talk Mindfulness LLC., whereas we talk about mental health-related issues and focus on mindfulness. I began writing books around seven. However, it never made it past paper. I published my first book on iBooks – Hey Baby! What Did You Do Today? in dedication to my sons Jelani and Noel Williams. Shortly after, my second book, How to Beat Depression was established. This book is about those who are having or know someone that is suffering from depression and ways to cope with it, hopefully beating it. My platform, Dia Talks Mindfulness LLC., provides FREE resources like the Suicidal Help Prevention Hotline (988) and SAMSHA. I have been in the Mental Health field of study for over seven years and graduated with my bachelor’s in Psychology in 2014. I am currently a graduate student pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Furthermore, I intend to continue my studies by earning my doctorate and becoming a Clinical Psychologist. Both writing books and practicing mindfulness are my focuses, and by reading either book as well as subscribing to Dia Talks Mindfulness website, is a great way to start focusing on healthier goals.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Things like life, passings, and financial stability has gotten in the way! With all of these things happening, someway, somehow I began to grasp focus! My purpose is to help anyone dealing with mental health, especially since some of the Black community believe that it is taboo.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Dia Talks Mindfulness LLC provides FREE resources like the Suicidal Help Prevention Hotline (988) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. What makes this platform different from some others is that the information provided in this website are completely FREE to help anyone that is suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or suicidal thoughts, etc. This platform is needed in many communities, especially because a lot of today’s society are dying because of suicide. I am known for writing books and inspiring others by sharing successful stories about life challenges and practicing mindfulness as a coping mechanism to deal with depression and/or other mental health illnesses.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is seeing my son smile and knowing that I’ve succeeded as a mom, as well as helping people become their better selves. I believe that everyone has potential; however, it is necessary to put in effort to become wholesome. It leaves me at peace knowing that I at least helped one person today by either talking to them, blogging, sharing my website, or reading my books. These are all important to me because I remember where I came from depressed and stressed to the point where I lost focus. I am gladly and proudly grateful to be able to help anyone dealing with mental illnesses so that they can live life like they have done before while being their most happiest, healthiest, and authentic selves.
