Check Out Jeremiah Dunn’s Story

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Dunn.

Jeremiah Dunn

Hi Jeremiah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Maryland and moved to Georgia when I was five. I grew up with five siblings (at the time, I now have 7). and two hard-working parents. They would always instill in us that they supported us and whatever we do, and we watched them build a company from the ground up, which inspired me to want to do the same thing.

My interest in videography and photography first sparked when I was younger. It was almost like an escape for me. It allowed me to forget about all of my problems at my age. (grades, behavior, etc..) Watching my dad produce videos from a studio in our home. Grew my interest even more. I got into videography when I was 14. I was editing small projects for my dad and his company, and I would travel with him to different events and just film.

As time passed, my interest grew more and more, and I started perfecting my craft with YouTube University/trial and error. When I graduated high school, I produced content for my college, Columbus State University (Athletics Department, fraternities, etc.). While in college, I lived paycheck to paycheck, paying for it out-of-pocket. However, I was offered an opportunity to work for a motivational speaker named Jeremy Anderson.

Now I get to travel the world, help tell his story, and inspire others through my lens. I have worked with and captured content for top speakers in the industry, such as Eric Thomas, Tim Ross, and Inky Johnson, to name a few. I always say photography and videography are my love. I will never lose interest or passion in those things. They are my happiness, and they bring me joy. I get to do what I love: travel and film as a freelancer and change the world one video/picture at a time!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not a smooth road. I struggled in school with my grades and behavior. I was not a bad kid, but I just liked to talk. Math was very difficult for me and in the end when I graduated high school I missed GA Hope scholarship by less than a point. That affected me a little bit.

I also had to pay for college out-of-pocket. And was living off $20 each month after I paid my monthly dues and paid for Lyft two and from work, which were very expensive! (didn’t have a car at the time). Sometimes, I would come home from work, and the café would be closed, so I just wouldn’t eat that night.

But those struggles taught me a lesson and made me who I am. I will not be where I am without each one of those experiences. Every day, I chose to wake up, keep pushing, and have faith. Which got me to where I am today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a videographer/photographer. I’ve worked with. World-renowned speakers and Pastors, but also your average human beings!

I am most proud of the impact I make through my camera’s lens. Every video could inspire one person to be better than they were yesterday. I use my God-given gift to impact and change lives worldwide!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Faith drives me to believe in something I can’t see. But I know I can obtain. Faith in what I believe in and knowing that it’ll all work out in the end.
