Motivated by over 15 years in HR witnessing companies neglect their employees and employers undervaluing their teams, I launched BHS Consulting Firm. I recognized that employees are the backbone of any business—without them, there is neither business nor profitability. My mission is to transform this overlooked aspect of business by fostering stronger, more respectful relationships between employers and their teams. Under my leadership, BHS Consulting has grown significantly. We’ve succeeded in helping organizations realize the critical importance of their workforce, implementing strategies that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. This focus not only improves workplace culture but also drives sustainable business success, proving that valuing employees is both ethically right and commercially sound.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My passion for transformative change within talent development companies was ignited by firsthand experiences in workplaces that starkly undervalued their associates. Witnessing the detrimental effects of a hostile, toxic work environment and working under managers who failed to recognize the worth of their employees left a lasting impact. Additionally, my tenure under a boss whose unethical behaviors compromised both morale and company integrity underscored the urgent need for change. These challenging experiences propelled me to focus on creating positive, ethical, and supportive workplace cultures in talent development. My aim is to ensure that organizations not only acknowledge but actively enhance the value of every employee, fostering environments where respect, integrity, and growth are paramount. This commitment drives my efforts to transform business practices, promoting a holistic approach to employee development and well-being.

For effective mentorship, seek out individuals whose careers inspire you and who exhibit the qualities and skills you aspire to develop. Start by attending industry-specific events, joining professional organizations, or participating in online forums and webinars where you can connect with potential mentors. I was fortunate to find my accountability partners on social media. It’s sad but true that sometimes your supporters are strangers versus family and or friends. Once you’ve established a mentorship, ensure it includes structured meetings and clear goals to foster a productive relationship. Similarly, accountability partners can be found in professional settings or workshops, where mutual goals and commitments drive each other’s progress. Effective networking and mentorship involve both parties actively engaging and benefiting from the relationship, so always approach these opportunities with a mindset of what you can contribute as well as gain.
