Daily Inspiration: Meet Nicole DeHoff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole DeHoff.

Nicole DeHoff

Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started photography in High School and fell in love with it. I transitioned into maternity and newborn portraiture before my son was born. I love everything about motherhood; it’s so pure, and being able to capture the intimate moments is just something so special.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. The photography market is very saturated, and trying to stand out from the other talent can be difficult. I’ve been in this industry for 16 years, and it’s constantly changing. So, keeping up with the trends can be exhausting. I also had to move my business from Ohio to Georgia, so starting completely over in a market I didn’t know was a challenge, but I made it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a maternity and newborn photographer. I love being able to capture such incredible moments and changes in a family’s life. I have reached the point in my career where I am recognized for my work and in public. I have had several images in big publications such as People Magazine and Cosmopolitan. I have also been blessed with the ability to travel and teach other inspiring photographers.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I think being successful is based on personal goals. Everyone defines success differently, and for me, owning my own commercial space, having my books filled, and hitting my own personal goals in terms of creativeness has fulfilled my definition of success.
