Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Rhett Noble.
Hi Josh, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Josh Rhett Noble: SAG-AFTRA/AEA, TV/Stage/Film/Voice Actor
Born in the vibrant city of Atlanta, I grew up in the charming small town of Tallapoosa, GA, where my passion for performing was ignited from a young age. As a child, I was driven by the desire to make others laugh, feel seen, and escape their everyday lives. This innate desire to connect with others through storytelling has been the driving force behind my artistic journey.
I honed my craft in musical theatre and film at the University of Miami before making the move to the bright lights of New York City. I was blessed to perform on stages there and across the country, and even today, there’s no rush quite like sharing that electric energy with a live audience.
However, when my mother’s third cancer diagnosis required me to become her caregiver, my priorities shifted. As I transitioned from theatre to mostly on-camera work, I discovered a new passion for television, film, and voiceover projects. The past few years have been a whirlwind of exciting opportunities, and I’ve found myself falling deeply in love with the art of storytelling on screen.
Sadly, I’ve lost both of my parents to cancer, but their unwavering support and encouragement have left an indelible mark on my heart. Despite their initial concerns about the instability of pursuing a career in the arts, they were thrilled to see me chase my dreams and live life on my own terms. Their love and joy have given me the courage to keep pushing forward, and I’ll always cherish the memories we made together.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As the world grappled with the pandemic, the arts industry faced an unprecedented crisis. Then, the writer’s strike, followed by the SAG-AFTRA strike, left many creatives feeling uncertain and anxious about their future. The struggle to make a living while pursuing a passion for the arts is daunting without the added obstacles.
But despite the challenges, I find that my passion for the arts only grows stronger. The uncertainty and unpredictability of this life can also fuel creativity and drive. In a world that’s constantly changing, I find comfort in the consistency of my craft. The process of telling stories, of bringing characters to life – it’s what gives me purpose and fulfillment. And as I navigate the ups and downs of this unpredictable life, I’m reminded that it’s not just about the end result but about the journey itself. Bringing joy and escape to others is what makes it worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an entertainer, I’ve been blessed to have had a career that’s spanned decades. My early years were spent in the world of theatre, where I had the privilege of performing in over 70 productions across the country. From iconic roles like “Gaston” in Disney’s Beauty & the Beast to “Captain von Trapp” in The Sound of Music, I’ve had the opportunity to bring beloved characters to life on stage.
My experience extended into television, where I’ve had the pleasure of working on esteemed shows like LAW & ORDER: SVU, MONARCH, and THE WONDER YEARS. And on the big screen, I’ve had the honor of sharing scenes with renowned actors like Bruce Willis, Clifton Powell, and David Henrie.
I spent several years providing voice and full motion capture for the Rockstar-produced video game RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2, as well as acting in several national commercial spots.
When I’m not performing, I love coaching other actors. Assisting others in discovering their love for the arts is one of my biggest passions.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
From the stage to the screen, I’ve taken a dramatic detour from my musical theatre roots. While many might know me as a tough-as-nails cop on screen, few are aware of my childhood escapades – singing my heart out at the top of my lungs on tables at my family’s restaurant. As an actor, I thrive on the thrill of transformation, bringing new personas to life. And yet, no matter the role, I always infuse a piece of myself into each performance.
