Meet Christal Floyd of Divine Libations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christal Floyd.

Christal Floyd

Hi Christal, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our story began with family! My sister, LaShika, and I learned the art of small-batch winemaking from our dad, who picked up the method from a close friend. We were always fascinated by the process and the joy of creating something delicious together. Fast forward four years, and that fascination has blossomed into Divine Libations! We’re thrilled to have our own winery in Atlanta’s vibrant Castleberry Hill neighborhood.

But Divine Libations is more than just production. We’re passionate about sharing the love of winemaking, which is why we offer two unique experiences:

-‘The Art of Winemaking’ is a class that empowers you to take the final steps – balancing sweetness, bottling, corking, and labeling your very own creation.

-For those who want to delve deeper, our ‘Winemaking, Redefined’ is a comprehensive four-week course that takes you on the entire winemaking journey, from selecting grapes to bottling your masterpiece.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been all smooth sailing, but every hurdle has been a valuable learning experience. Building a business from the ground up requires wearing many hats – from winemaking to marketing to accounting! We’ve had to learn a lot on the fly, but that’s also what makes the journey so rewarding.

One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the complexities of being a business owner. There’s so much to learn, from legalities to financial management. But the good news is, we’ve been fortunate to meet incredible people who’ve become mentors and helped us navigate this sea of information. Their guidance has been invaluable in shaping Divine Libations into what it is today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Divine Libations, we’re all about crafting delightful experiences that go beyond the ordinary bottle of wine. While we specialize in creating smooth, delicious, sweet wines, our expertise allows us to produce a variety of reds and whites as well. What truly sets us apart is the intention and energy we infuse into each bottle. We use moon-charged water and crystals during the winemaking process, believing it elevates the vibrational energy of our wines. This unique touch resonates with those seeking a more holistic and mindful approach to enjoying wine.

We’re also incredibly passionate about empowering others to explore their own creativity. That’s why we offer two engaging winemaking classes – ‘The Art of Winemaking’ for a hands-on bottling experience and ‘Winemaking, Redefined’ for a comprehensive journey from grape selection to bottling your masterpiece.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of creating a welcoming space where people can connect with the art of winemaking, discover something new, and celebrate life’s special moments. We want our readers to know that Divine Libations isn’t just about the wine; it’s about the experience – a chance to create, connect, and savor something truly special.

How do you define success?
For us, success is a beautiful journey, not a fixed destination. It’s about following your passions, embracing the challenges that come with learning new things, and growing with every lesson you encounter. Building Divine Libations has been an incredible learning experience, filled with both triumphs and setbacks. But through it all, we’ve stayed true to our passion for creating unique wines and sharing the joy of winemaking with others. That continuous growth and the positive impact we have on our customers is what defines success for us.
