Today we’d like to introduce you to Serena Rae.
Hi Serena, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have loved music since I was a kid. My brother and I used to play concerts for our parents in our living room. When I was 11 or 12, I started to learn guitar and write songs more seriously, but when I was 18, I decided to pursue music as a full-time career. I have been releasing as many songs as I can, performing countless shows, and continuing to put in the long hours and hard work it takes to excel in the music industry.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am grateful for the gifts I have been given as well as the passion and drive I have to pursue them. Whenever you chase a dream, there are always things you will have to give up along the way. Even though that can be hard, I try to look at it as necessary in order to grow.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an independent artist. I write and produce my own music as well as my own videos and social media content (with some help from my support team, i.e., my parents and my brother). Last August I released my debut album, “To The Dream”, since then, I started releasing one song per month. I am also planning to release my sophomore album later this year.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is being able to write, record, and release my music for the world to hear.
