Caliwood Entertainment started in Durham North Carolina in 2018 curating music platforms for artists to perform, make money and build their network! In addition, CW Entertainment provides visual media and music production, event management services and music licensing! Our mission to exemplify professionalism in creative spaces and to educate the values of intellectual property are the focal point of why we do what we do. We have proudly aided hundreds of artists in becoming more professional and more knowledgeable about the music business as well as providing creative spaces to cultivate those skills. Today, we are located in Atlanta Georgia where we continue our mission. Curated spaces for artists to showcase their art, media production for content and growing a database of clientele is the heart of CW Ent. As we groom creatives who step onto our platform with professionalism and knowledge,they become better creatives as a business and as an artist! We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road for Caliwood Entertainment. The owner, Caliwood Rassamon who is a singer songwriter and musician knew nothing about the business side of things when starting out. There was an obvious gift of song but no knowledge of what this meant on a grand scale. After acquiring a mentor it became clear that music was a business just like any other profession. There were necessary steps the company had to take in order to stand out amongst creatives who were just “putting out music”. This process was a learning curve for CW Entertainment. From learning about P.R.O.’s, to publishing, to songwriting, to artist, there was just so much to learn. Today, as we still learn new things we are able to navigate artists on the basics of what’s needed to even be considered a “real” artist in the eyes of the music business. It took several years to study information about the music business and how to be successful in it. Learning doesn’t stop however, as this business is always innovating. It became clear that as a creative, one would need to define what results or outcome they anticipated in being in the music business. That can be hard. Are you an artist? Are you a songwriter? Are you both? That’s where we found a lack in resources to educate and help define what a creatives role is in the business. That’s how we found Caliwood Entertainment.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Caliwood Rassamon is a singer songwriter and musician who has been singing all her life; from leading the church choir, singing at school in plays and special engagements to curating spaces to sing in front of her own supporters. Songwriting has always been something Cali has done, she just never knew she could generate money from it or that it was a business. Until she did. Known for her vocal capability that no one ever seen coming when she stepped on stage she quickly became an influence amongst her peers. It was then that she was able to notice her vocal influence in not just her singing but emceeing as well. She started hosting her curated shows and knew from then on, her voice would make room for her success. What sets Cali apart is, she’s pretty much great in anything she sets out to do. So when she’d get on stage and emcee her own music set, not only were people entertained by her speaking voice and energy, but later shocked at the difference in her singing voice when she sang. Both easily enjoyed and embraced by all walks of life. Her voice brings people together no matter the background. That is what made Caliwood different. Her fashion style, her energy and her vocal talents all speak a different language that captivates any audience she stands in front of.
