Meet Snaco

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Snaco.

Snaco

Snaco, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
There are a bunch of ways I could tell my story, but as far as my story goes, in my music journey, I started making music at a pretty young age. I was always a talented writer. At only 12 years old, I used to write poems and songs for my grandma just so she would permit me to go outside. She was the first to notice how naturally gifted I was at writing songs.

When high school came around, I started to take music a lot more seriously. I started in a rap group with my friends. We used to stay after school and freestyle to beats. I was so good that eventually, one of the popular kids at the school, who happened to be an aspiring producer, heard about me and started hanging out after school with us. He would play his beats for me to rap over.

I quickly became popular at school for my talents but eventually, this became a problem. I was always a really shy person but eventually walking into a school where everyone knew you, started to become nightmare fuel for my anxiety. I ended up dropping out of school my junior year and started my music career heavily.

Since that day I haven’t looked back, and throughout my journey, I’ve mastered my art, mind, and spirit. Now I am what I always knew I would be, I am the leader of a lost soul. I’m SNACO.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think the only obstacle that I’ve had to face throughout my journey is my own mind. I battle with anxiety and depression, and sometimes it gets so bad that I can almost feel crippled. What keeps me going is the people who battle with similar issues. I know how it feels; I have to fight so that I can save others from it.

I give people a shoulder to cry on in times of need, a friend, and someone that people can relate to. The art of music needed that. They needed someone to step up and say “It takes me. I will lead the way for others.”

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is simply being able to do what you love freely.

Therefore, I am successful. I think we live in an era now where a lot of people are held up on numbers. I don’t care about numbers as much as the next person. If I get three people to listen to one song, but that one song saves three lives, I’ve done my job successfully.
