Today we’d like to introduce you to Helen Hernandez Archer
Hi Helen Hernandez, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
A trustworthy, dynamic communicator with Puerto Rican roots, Helen obtained her undergraduate education at the University of Puerto Rico and earned master’s studies in investigative journalism from Florida International University. While working in broadcast journalism for Telemundo and CNN, Atlanta, she won an Emmy for the coverage of September 11, along with a Peabody Award following Hurricane Katrina. After transitioning to real estate, she served as a Productivity Coach for top agents in Los Angeles and have trained agents both inside and outside of the United States.
Inquisitive, goal-oriented and well-traveled, Helen excels at connecting with people from all backgrounds and getting to the heart of a set of circumstances, absorbing details while envisioning the big picture. Licensed in both Georgia and California, Helen’s background makes her particularly suited for international relocation clients, multi-cultural families, global investor clients and upscale clientele. From assisting with navigating customs to providing information on local multicultural food options, she makes each one feel like they belong and has a place to call home.
An Atlanta resident for 25 years, Helen currently resides in Smyrna-Vinings with her family and enjoys the area for its accessibility to the rest of the city. She loves Atlanta’s affordability, its small-town feel with all the benefits of a major metropolitan area, its proximity to the outdoors and its family-friendly appeal. She knows the city inside out and works entirely by referral, primarily serving Cobb, Fulton, Cherokee, DeKalb, Forsyth and Gwinnett Counties. A devoted mother of twins, she is an involved parent at The Walker School and an active participant at the Buckhead Church and the Tres Dias ministry. An Ironman triathlete, she relaxes by biking or running the Silver Comet Trail or swimming and paddle boarding around the different lakes in Metro Atlanta.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! Moving to a city 25 years ago where it was not as diverse as it is now it was difficult to adapt to the weather and its people. When I left CNN to sell real estate it was a real gamble since I was leaving a very secure and successful 15 year career in Television to work by commission only. Then a year later of me leaving the corporate world the real estate market tanked so I’ve always had to hustle, adapt and pivot. There is never been a dull moment in real estate!
We’ve been impressed with The Archer Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have been selling real estate since 2006. I was very blessed that since the beginnings I was able to find success in helping others. It was not easy learning an entire new world and career but with hard work and determination I finished my first year selling more than 25 homes on my first 7 months in real estate and continued to increase my sales doubling every year even during the economic crisis of 2008-2013.
I speak Spanish and Portuguese and my niche is International clients. I can service and relate very well with clients who are moving into the city that are from other countries. The experience of working at CNN and all my international travels while I was working in broadcasting gave me the opportunity to learn how to work with people from almost every country in the world.
My approach is more of a strategist and project manager. Most of my clients are repeat customers or different generations with their families. Once you work with us we will be your realtor for life. We always set a short and long term strategy for my clients so they can safely invest and when its time to sale they can make great gains with the investment made.
I love working by referral as I am able to build such a high level trust with our high touch level of customer service that our clients become friends like family. Throughout the almost two decades of selling real estate I am proud to have my phone ring with consistent referrals thanks to the systems and luxury customer service we provide.
