Meet Viola Choice of Downtown Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Viola Choice

Hi Viola, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Viola Choice and I’m a business owner, creative director, fashion stylist, designer and Fashion show/ event coordinator. I fell in love with fashion at a young age. From having the play fashion shows with my cousins to playing in my mom’s heels, I always knew I had a passion for expressing myself through my outfit. I always just dressed like myself but when I won best dressed in high school, it gave me confidence to take fashion seriously. Following high school I attended Clark Atlanta University. My sophomore year of college I suffered from a major tragedy in my life. My boyfriend, and best friend Keenon, passed away unexpectedly. I was so lost and was looking for anything to make me happy again. That’s when I started my business. I began selling glasses and accessories and over the past 7 years I’ve grown to clothing as well. These past 7 years have been a huge blessing. Over 5 magazines, multiple collections, over 10 fashion shows and counting. My purpose is to spread motivation and to show others that no matter what you been through , you can still make the CHOICE to have an amazing life.

I am also the Executive Director at TRAPXART, which is truly my dream job! We have art events in different cities every week and have built partnerships with companies such as Moxy Hotels.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve realized life is a journey of ups and downs that paint a beautiful picture at the end. While I’ve definitely had struggles with mental health, finances, business hardships , and life situations; they’ve all made me who I am today.

To this day I still have struggles. I just handle things a lot better because I’ve learned so many lessons from what I’ve been through. I have a 2 year old daughter who looks up to me so I try my best to show her that no matter what life throws at you , that you can still push through and succeed.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the Executive Director at Trapxart! We are an international Art community that curates all different types of events to bring together creatives. We strive to create opportunities for artists, musicians, fashion designers, local businesses, and all creatives to showcase their talent and meet like minded individuals.

Through my work I have met hundreds of incredible creatives and absolutely love what I do. I love curating spaces for creatives to do what they love freely while also creating myself. I’m most proud of myself for stepping into this huge leadership role and making it my own. I have always stayed true to who I am and aspire to inspire.

What’s sets us apart is our love and passion for the creative community. There is no place like TRAPXART!!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
This is an emotional question because I owe so much to my village. First of all thank you GOD. Thank you so much to my amazing parents for always supporting me. Thank you to my amazing daughter for giving me the motivation and strength to strive to be the best version of myself. Thank you to my best friend and daughters God mother, Haille, for always having our back and being there for us. Last but not least, thank you to my incredible mentors Amina Brooks and Big Rich. These two have changed my life in ways I could only dream of. I love you all!
