Daily Inspiration: Meet Harvey Street

Today we’d like to introduce you to Harvey Street

Hi Harvey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Harvey Street began as a college band in Raleigh, NC. A couple friends jamming turned in to bar gigs, then support slots opening for touring bands coming through town, to now touring and headlining venues all across the Southeast.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any creative endeavor certainly reveals challenges over time. While touring is incredibly fun and rewarding, it also requires hard work and sacrifice. The band continues to refine its internal processes, whether it be creatively or administratively. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have tours taken care of, while all other decisions are ultimately ours. Big shoutout to Atlas and our TM Garrett – they make everything we do possible.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Harvey Street is an original band, we write our own tunes and play them for anyone who is interested in attending our show! We’re certainly proud of our creative process – our frontman brings in melodies/chords/ideas and we go from there together. Over time, we’ve continued to explore a variety of ideas and sounds while remaining true to the original Harvey Street songwriting that helped the band grow to where we are today.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The closest character the band has to a mentor is our Producer Wolfgang Zimmerman. He has extensive experience with high profile bands such as Band of Horses, Susto, and The Futurebirds, to name a few. While his technical skills are undeniably impressive and necessary for the music, his ability to arbitrate the band sets him apart. When it comes down to the little details that can make or break a song, we always trust his guidance.
