Meet Dante Clay of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dante Clay

Hi Dante, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got started back in 2018 right after i graduated college. Went through a bad break up and my roommate at the time said i should put my feelings into songs. So I started writing and recording. I put my first song out that year called “Made You” which was about my ex’s at the time. Caught a lot of buzz from that song around the city of Atlanta. My cousin who’s my manager now Paul told me I should keep going and I did. 2019 came I got the opportunity to go on tour to work and learn the ins and outs of the music industry. Which I learned so much from that time being on the road. Meeting different people, going to different venues. And also playing my music for different artist. Fast forward a couple of years later my buzz has gotten a little bigger and my homie Deante Hitchcock ask me to open for him on his tour. That was 2023 which was an amazing experience. In that same year I got to meet my musical idol T-pain! That little time in between meeting him and opening up on tour I was just manifesting and writing my goals down. And it worked

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road at all. Figuring out that everyone doesn’t have your best interest. A lot of times people will offer to do things for a money grab. But also having doubt in yourself and selfish sabotaging at times which I think we all do at some point. Another struggle is trying to stay consistent. Especially when you have 2 or 3 jobs just to keep the lights on in the crib.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do all types of music. Mostly melodic type things in different genres. I’m not Necessarily known for anything I don’t think, but if I had to say, it would be my storytelling in my love songs. Are most proud of building A fan base from the ground up and going on a tour. My work ethic set me apart from others when they Don’t feel like doing it I will.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk taking in this industry is very important. I took a risk by quitting my job in 2019 to go on tour for Two months not knowing How I would make it once the tour Ended. Eventually, I figured it out and it was probably one of the best decisions I ever made in my life, but At that time, I was terrified, but I also knew what I wanted
