Community Highlights: Meet Natalia Rendon & Clara de Niz of Antojolandia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Rendon & Clara de Niz

Hi Natalia and Clara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2018, we moved to Georgia, Clara De Niz came from Jalisco Mexico & Natalia Rendon came from Los Angeles ,Ca. We met became friends in Atlanta and by 2019, we started selling Bionicos, a Mexican snack, outside a supermarket as a side business. We began with a small table, gradually adding more items, and gained popularity in our local community. Then expanded our business through catering
at parties and festivals and established two permanent pop-up locations. Our significant business growth led us to quit our full- time jobs and focus entirely on our venture. Almost two years ago, we secured a location for our first physical store. We officially opened our first store June, 2024.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been easy we took almost 2 years to officially open our store due to finances, but thankfully we find the right investors and partners to help us growth our dream business Ice Cream Shop. Permits were also very complicated in getting and obtaining information was the hardest part making sure we were following all the steps to open our store. The biggest issue was paying for unexpected changes we had to make to the location after inspections. The hardest part of maintaining our business has been being consistent every single weekend and working holidays for the past 5 years sacrificing our time with our families.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Antojolandia?
We are a Mexican Ice Cream Shop with an Authentic homemade Mexican antojos, for a flavorful escape from the everyday and a place to recharge with loved ones.
We are committed to providing high-quality, homemade Mexican antojitos that satisfy our customers’ cravings.
Our antojitos are authentically made, staying true to traditional flavors.
We aim to create an atmosphere where our customers can enjoy their antojos and their time spent in our establishment.
We are most known for our street corn and our fresas con crema, We have built our brand from scratch and what makes us different is that most of our customers have been with us to see our growth

What are your plans for the future?
Our biggest future plan for Antojolandia is eventually turning it into a franchise. Providing opportunity for other entrepreneurs who might want to own a Mexican ice cream shop in the future. For now we don’t have big changes we are just working on our store to make it perfect and in the near future start looking for a second location.
