Hi Vanessa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, I was a shy, quiet girl, picked on and left out, made to feel like I wasn’t good enough. In my heart I knew I was valuable and worthy, and unbeknownst to me, I would embark on a journey to figure out how. As a child, creativity was my safe space and the way I expressed myself. My content creation journey started off with my love for photography and the arts, dating back to childhood. As a photographer, I love capturing moments and the beauty of everyday life. That love of capturing beautiful moments turned into a passion for creating them as well. Makeup became another creative outlet, and I found myself wanting to share that love with others through content. Today I strive to inspire others to romanticize everyday life by making connections through beauty & lifestyle content.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say it has been the smoothest road, but one where the challenges I faced gave me opportunities to grow as a creator. One big struggle I faced along the way was comparison. Comparing my content to others who were growing in followers and audience reach. Questioning if I was posting enough or if people really cared about the videos I was making. Wondering if I was really cut out to be a “content creator”. What I’ve come to realize is comparison keeps you stagnant. The only person you should compare yourself to is yourself; your growth and your journey. I joyfully reflect on my journey as a creative and on how much my skill set has grown; not only in makeup, but in the quality of my content. The community I’ve grown over the years who enjoy my content keep me motivated on my creator’s journey!

We’ve been impressed with ViewsByNes, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started a creative brand, ViewsByNes, where I specialize in creative direction, helping clients bring their concepts to life. I assist in and oversee the development of creative content and the creative process itself. What sets me apart is my passion ​for helping others bring their “visions to visuals”! I strive to enhance clients’ experience using skills I’ve developed through years of event coordinating and content creating. What I’m most proud of brand wise is executing excellent customer service, leaving clients satisfied with their experience. What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was visiting the beach with my family. I used to live in Mozambique, located in southeast Africa right by the ocean coast. We would visit the beach all the time and the fond memories we made fueled my love for the beach now!
