Check Out Latisha Dorsey’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latisha Dorsey

Hi LaTisha , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When God downloaded into my spirit, and through the voice of angels here on earth, that I was going to author a book, become a certified Christain Counselor, and give birth to a business about my grief experience, I had doubts about how my journey could possibly help others. Grief is personal, and while I understand the stages of grief from a professional therapy point of view, there is no cookie cutter approach for dealing with it, going through it and then moving past it. Grief can take on a life of its own and manifest through anger, confusion, depression, weight gain/loss, loneliness, and isolation. I have experienced some or all of this through the grieving process.
Losing my husband Oliver, the love of my life, has been the hardest thing I have ever done. I did not think I would survive his passing, but I’m here to testify what a mighty God we serve! In my darkest moments, God took care of me with actions and deeds both seen and unseen. He carried me through the storm and continues to be my anchor in the sand. He has never left me or forsaken me, and I know because my redeemer lives, so does Oliver with Jesus on the other side.
It is my prayer that when others hear my testimony and see the hands of God at work, that they will be blessed!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, surprisingly it has been. I was blessed to have had doors and opportunities open to me that I knew could only be the hands of God at work. My good friend and former coworker, Dr. Melissa Hill was very instrumental in helping create my business structure, and self-publishing my first book. It is truly a blessing to have a friend that wants to see you succeed and will help in any areas needed. I remember my friend telling me that everyone needs a “Melissa” in their lives. She is truly a God sent, and blessing to all of those that she comes into contact with.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a servant leader and devout Christian. I have a heart and compassion to serve others. Through my passion to serve, I became certified in Christian Counseling and founded Serenity Servant Services, LLC in May 2022, a Christian Centered Counseling and Coaching Business for those that are dealing with loss or impending transition of a loved one. It is my desire to help others navigate the tumultuous grief waters with the love of God.
I also had the honor of giving birth to my first book “He’s Working Behing the Scenes for My Good”, where I share my transformative journey as I move from a state of hopelessness to one of spiritual healing and deliverance. Experience my struggles and triumphs as I navigate through life’s challenges and discover how to overcome adversity through my newfound spiritual awakening. Witness the new profound changes in my life as I find a renewed sense of purpose and hope and learn how you too can find your own path to spiritual growth and healing.
What sets me apart for others, is my heart for people!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see Christain Counseling growing rapidly. What initially began with a one-on-one session with the Pastor of your local church, has now grown into a ministry at varies churches, as well as private practices amongst counselors and therapists. However, there is more to Christain counseling that the church is now aware of and has made it available for their members and people of the community.
