Today we’d like to introduce you to Bigdawg Chino
Hi BigDawg, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I couldn’t go to the NBA anymore lol
I was athletic and decided to use my skills in sports to get out the hood. I realized I needed to do well in school to achieve that, but conflicts at home arised. I had nowhere to go, I asked my teachers for help and instead of helping me with academics and get into programs to help me or even sports, they tried to send me to a shelter. I felt I had a better chance in the streets due to the conditions of the shelters and my pride. I Slept at parks, bus stops, wherever I could.
One day I was on the block, kicked out of school, and my guys made a diss song and I hopped on it as a joke, people said I was hard and it went viral before viral was a thing.
My popularity increased and I took off from there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at first, I kept going to jail. Every time a major opportunity came about I kept going to jail. I feel like I’d never die like other rappers coming up, I’m Mr. God is Good, my only problem is I kept going to jail. I had the Cleveland curse, every time something good come about something bad happens. I had to leave out my city to reach my fullest potential, unfortunately. I’ve experienced things most rappers from my city hasn’t. I made it out and I’m not looking back.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m all-around entertainer, I signed a deal, I’m in 6 TV-shows, dropping soon. I’ve worked with major artists like Waka, QC artists, 21 Savage, Lotto Savage, K-Stylist. And so many big name producers.
One of my biggest accomplishments not reached was about to go on tour with The Weekend, and as you guessed, I went to prison unfortunately.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Next 5 years, I see the rap game going to be a real business because P. Diddy going to jail. Now you can get signed off your talent, you don’t have to suck d***. You don’t have to go to P Diddy house and get bribed with sex to make it somewhere.. it’s going to turn back to being fun, and fun competition.
In the next 5 years, I’m going to be doing everything inside and outside of rap. Everything I’m doing now, but at the next level.
