Leslie Narváez, a professional makeup artist specialized in brides, is a benchmark of creativity and commitment in the world of bridal beauty. Born in Riobamba, Ecuador, the world of makeup was always present in her life. As a child, she secretly played with making up her sister and herself with her mother’s products, inventing looks in front of the mirror. Later, she was the one who did makeup for her friends for their parties, and she enjoyed every moment. Although she began studying Accounting and Auditing, Leslie knew that her true path lay in enhancing beauty. What seemed like a hobby at the time soon became his vocation.
The makeup also reminded her of the importance of self-care and self-love after becoming a mother, strengthening her connection to this art form that not only beautifies, but empowers. Since 2014, Leslie has perfected her techniques in Ecuador, Argentina and the United States, consolidating a style that is characterized by enhancing the natural beauty of each woman with a timeless, sober and elegant approach.
When it came time for her own wedding, Leslie experienced the unique emotions of being a bride. That day she reaffirmed her commitment to accompanying women on one of the most important days of their lives. Along with her husband, renowned wedding photographer Esteban Meneses, Leslie creates indelible memories, fusing her art with the love stories they capture as a team.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a blessed path and like everything in life of perseverance, each decision has been brought to its present. While I was finishing my studies, I had already gotten my first job and decided to invest my first salaries in my true passion, makeup. I enrolled in my first professional course and bought my first kit. At that time I believed it was my way of expressing my creativity with my favorite hobby, without knowing that this would mark the beginning of a career that would transform my life. Since when my son was born I worked in both professions, and there came a time when I had to decide one of them to have time for him. This is how I worked to become my best version and planned my path to highlight the beauty of women and believe in them at every moment to fulfill their dreams. Makeup has been the tool that has allowed me to convey this powerful message.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Throughout her career, Leslie has left significant marks. Since 2018, she began traveling internationally to do makeup for brides, in 2019, her work was on the cover of Familia magazine. During the pandemic, she stood out for her social work and commitment to women, developing makeup courses for cancer patients and providing inspiration on how to balance life as a mother, wife and professional. Additionally, she founded the podcast ¨La Belleza en tu Alma¨, a space to connect deeply with other women and share her message of self-love and empowerment.
In the educational field, Leslie created the Makeup for the Soul course, an experience designed for women to rediscover their inner beauty. She has been a speaker at important bridal exhibitions and has directed fashion shows specializing in wedding dresses, expanding her presence in the world of beauty and fashion.
The year 2024 marked a milestone in her career when she received recognition from the Net Bodas platform in the Bridal Beauty category. This award reaffirms her commitment to continue inspiring and serving more women. Additionally, her training as a coach has allowed her to integrate a deeper and more holistic approach into her work, helping women reconnect with their inner light.
