NaTasha Wilborn

Hi NaTasha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
“Crafting has always been a passion of mine. It all started in my late 20s when I began making jewelry, and from there, my love for creating only grew. You could say it runs in my blood—my grandfather owned a dry cleaners on Auburn Avenue, and my grandmother and great aunt, both talented seamstresses, passed down their skills and creativity to me. I love the challenge of seeing something online and bringing my own version of it to life. I quickly discovered that crafting was not only a creative outlet but also a source of relaxation and joy. When friends and family began asking me to make pieces for them, I saw how much they loved what I created. That sparked the idea to turn my passion into a business—and here I am today, doing what I love and sharing it with others!”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“The journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but I’ve learned to embrace them as part of the process. In the beginning, there was a lot of trial and error—figuring out techniques, learning new skills, and understanding what worked best for me. YouTube became my go-to teacher, and each mistake taught me something valuable. Over time, as I practiced and gained confidence, things started to click, and the process felt smoother. While the road wasn’t entirely bump-free, those early challenges shaped me and gave me the tools to grow. Looking back, I’m grateful for every learning moment and every “PUSH” from my family because they’ve helped me get to where I am today.”

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
“My career journey has been diverse and fulfilling. I spent over 15 years as a Finance Manager for a media advertising company, where I honed my skills in financial strategy and leadership. Now, I serve as a Senior Accountant for a well-known food chain, where I continue to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Beyond my professional roles, I’m most proud of my ability to help people succeed in all areas of their lives—whether it’s offering guidance, sharing knowledge, or simply being a supportive presence. I’ve earned the reputation of being a ‘Jill of all trades,’ and I take that as a badge of honor.
What sets me apart is my adaptability and willingness to step into new challenges with enthusiasm. Whether it’s crunching numbers, mentoring others, or pursuing my creative passions, I bring the same level of dedication and heart to everything I do.”

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
“Networking is absolutely essential—it’s a powerful way to build your brand, connect with like-minded individuals, and make your business stand out. Whether it’s attending local events, joining online communities, or simply reaching out to others in your field, networking opens doors to new opportunities and fresh perspectives. Finding a mentor is equally valuable. A great mentor can provide guidance, share insights, and help you navigate challenges. I’m currently in the process of finding a mentor myself. Because my experience in crafting is so broad, it’s been a bit challenging to find someone who aligns with everything I do. However, I believe that sometimes the best mentorship comes from multiple sources—a network of people who can each offer unique perspectives on different aspects of your journey.
My advice? Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Engage with others, share your story, and always be open to learning from those around you. You never know where a connection might lead!”
