Life & Work with Casey Burchfield of Greensboro, Ga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Burchfield.

Hi Casey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a farmer. At the age of 16, I considered pursuing a career as a social studies teacher. When I turned 18, I became interested in studying kinesiology. However, by the time I was 25, I discovered my passion for the culinary world, which truly captured my heart. Although my journey has been winding, dedicating myself to becoming a chef has given my future a clearer direction.

I have had the privilege of working alongside and learning from renowned chefs, which helped me build my reputation within large corporate brands. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I quickly realized that venturing out on my own to establish my name in the culinary world would become my next passion. What started as home-delivered meals and catered functions evolved into a larger vision of creating a food truck.

The Burch was born during global hardships, and the support from the community exceeded my wildest dreams. Lake Country and the surrounding areas have given me hope and the motivation to expand my culinary talents beyond the food truck. I have been blessed with many wonderful things, including my wife Morgan, three dogs, an extended family, and two men who are now my friends and business partners.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth is a powerful word. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. I have certainly faced challenges along the way, but seeing the success of my current restaurants reminds me why I love what I do.

I’m motivated not just by my wonderful team and supportive family, but also by our customers.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a passionate person, both professionally and personally. While this intensity may sometimes hold me back or make things more challenging, it is also what has shaped me into the chef that people have come to know. I enjoy exploring various types of cuisine, from my signature smash burger to our elevated octopus dish. I love to keep things diverse and interesting, moving easily from one culinary extreme to another. My goal is to be the guy who keeps everyone guessing about the next dish I will create.

I take great pride in what we have established in our small community. The love shared between friends and family, along with the memorable experiences we create for our guests, is what motivates me most.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
No risk, no story. Without the risks I took, you wouldn’t be asking me these questions because I would still be working in the corporate world. Follow your dreams and trust your gut. Without the risk, there is no reward.
