Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Gillani.
Hi Sabrina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Atlanta (moved here in 1st grade!). I went to GA Tech for undergrad, and eventually went on to law school at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, AL. After law school, I opted to move back home, and I went on to become barred in both Georgia and Alabama. My initial years of practice were in litigation. In 2016, an opportunity came up for me to jump into the world of personal injury at John Foy and Associates. I worked there advocating for injured plaintiff’s for 8 years while I grew my family (had 2 boys while I worked there). Recently in 2024, I decided to start my own practice. Now our team is 8 amazing people with many years of experience.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My father moved to this country as a result of an accident that his older brother was involved. Had that tragic wreck not taken place, it’s quite possible that the trajectory of my life would be very different. In my family, I was the very first person who went to graduate school, neither of my parents completed college. Navigating the field of law and figuring out where to fit in was not only difficult, but was uncharted for me in many ways. One of the most difficult times in recent years, not just for me but for many, was learning how to navigate life through COVID. It was an unknown time for the industry and a big transitional time. While challenging, I have found that this led to a huge transformation in the industry. We transitioned to many different softwares and ways of working virtually with clients which has transformed our industry and made it possible for us to represent clients in all areas of the state and nationwide for the clients who live outside of the state as well.
We’ve been impressed with Gillani Law, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Gillani law is a personal injury law firm, representing injured clients, by delivering justice to those harmed by negligence—one person, one family, one case at a time. We believe that relationships are what makes any business thrive and seek to offer top notch, personalized service to each client based on their specific needs. We try to do fair by the clients, and treat each client with dignity and respect during a time in their life that is especially trying.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The best thing about Atlanta is that it is a diverse melting pot of many cultures. I love that I meet the most amazing and inspiring people in my line of work and that I learn so much from the people I work with. The worse thing about Atlanta is that it is fully landlocked there is no beach – it’s tragic having to drive at least 4 hours to get the coast.
