Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into the world of perfumery began with a deep-seated passion for fragrance that intertwined with my personal history and cultural roots. The brand, Miguel Brando, draws inspiration from my Italian Sardinian heritage, reflecting the rich and aromatic landscapes of Sardinia. This connection to my ancestry is not merely a backdrop; it informs the essence of the fragrances, each bottle capturing the spirit of my lineage.

The fascination with art and history also plays a significant role in the work. I have explored how World War II impacted various cultural expressions, including perfumery. My family’s involvement during this tumultuous time has left a lasting impression, shaping my understanding of resilience and creativity. This historical context adds depth to my fragrances, as I incorporate themes of nostalgia and memory, bringing to remembrance the stories of those who came before me.

If it was not for the love of God that has surrounded me and a supportive wife and family, I would not be where I am today. I do not know where I would be.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe anything worth having is never smooth. There will always be turns and setbacks one will have to face to achieve your goal. Anything worth doing is never easy.

There have been many struggles in the field of fragrance.Perfumery is not an easy business to get into your facing major giants, who have been in the business some even over 100 years.

There have many struggles, some have included naysayers, people who just don’t understand the vision. Shipping from overseas and dealing with different countries has been a unique struggle. Then there is the nature of life itself that can bring on its own roadblocks and its own trials and tribulations.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In the World of Miguel Brando, our mission is to create luxury perfumes that embody sophistication, elegance, and individuality. We aim to redefine refinement through luxurious perfume creation. Enchanting aromas that evoke poise and allure, capturing moments of timeless elegance and luxury, fill the air with a sense of refined grace and opulence that lingers delicately.

I am most proud of my diligence and dedication to this craft. I have immersed myself completely in the world of fragrance, perfume, and the olfactory experience.

What distinguishes us from other fragrance houses is the family heritage and lineage of the art of perfume. The crest of the cockatoo, that hangs so proudly above our house’s threshold, is the mark of excellence, integrity, and heritage which is the way of Miguel Brando.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was very introverted and kept to myself. I did not have many friends. I was definitely the kid that ate lunch by himself.

I was always immersed in my own world. I enjoyed creating my own worlds. But during that time I had know clue it would turn into what is now Miguel Brando.

I was also the kid that enjoyed fragrance. My dad had different fragrances. I enjoyed spraying them all and wanted my own collection.
