Community Highlights: Meet Ashley N Russell of ANR Consulting of Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley N Russell.

Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ashley N. Russell is the proud and poised owner of ANR Consulting of Georgia, a tax preparation company that also offers business consulting and notary services, AND ANR Bureau of Services, which offers Tax Navigator Pro tax software. Born and raised in the big city of Covington, GA, Ashley is the devoted wife of Antonio Russell and mother to Allyriah, Antonio Jr. and Armoni. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, self-care/pampering days and BRUNCH! Ashley is very active in church, sings in multiple choirs and is the Director of the Young People’s Division of Mt. Zion AME Church.

Prior to becoming a Full-Time Entrepreneur in 2021, Ashley worked in Manufacturing, then as a Paralegal for the largest insurance defense law firm in Georgia. After leaving the traditional 9 to 5, the freedom and flexibility of being self-employed afforded her the opportunity to receive her Georgia Real Estate Salesperson License. Interestingly, Ashley has discovered that her passion is Women’s Empowerment in her community and abroad. Taught the trade by her very own mother, Ashley has been in the tax industry for over 15 years. Collectively, the company has over 50 years of experience. The focus now is mentoring, building a solid team of tax professionals and sharing her knowledge to increase and restore morale in the tax industry.

The humble recipient of the Building Strong Futures 2020 “Millennial of the Year” Award and the 2022 Association of Black Tax Professionals’ “Top Leader in the Tax Industry” Award, Ashley believes in putting God first, so that all other aspects of her life align with God’s will for her life.

One of Ashley’s life’s beliefs are: “Your GIFT will make room for you.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been easy, nothing worth having is. I was faced with the struggle of TOTALLY depending on God to order my steps when it came to the decision of parting ways with my 9-5, leaving my comfortable salary! The learning curve of navigating the waters of ENTREPRENEURSHIP and all the aspects that come along with that beast was challenging. The “unknown-ness” of providing a service and retaining clientele, continuing my education to provide the most up-to-date information in this ever-changing industry and maintaining a professional appearance to my target audience ALL play a part in the struggle of entrepreneurship. And it doesn’t end there. To whom much is given, much is required is a never ending thought in my mind. So, being PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE is a must! I pride myself on image!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I adore the past-time, small town feel! We are growing, rapidly, which is bittersweet LOL! The “Hollywood of the South” has a nice touch. I dislike some of the discord in politics and tarnished light that is placed on our city due to the disagreement in expansion and migration.
