Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Rochelle Brown.
Hi Lindsay Rochelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am Lindsay Rochelle Brown, born and raised in the hometown of Birmingham, Alabama and currently reside in Lithonia, Georgia. I have been involved in the Cosmetic Industry for over twenty years and counting. At the mere age of 17, while getting ready for my high school Prom, my mother was the first person to introduce me to makeup and skincare, which truly captured my inspiration of how makeup made me look and feel. During my freshman year at Stillman College of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, I began my new journey as a Self-taught makeup artist, serving first as an independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for five years (2002-2007) in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area and an Avon Representative for three years (2009-2012) in the Birmingham, Alabama area. With both companies, my aspirations were in exceeding my monthly goals and serving my clientele with sharing knowledge of skin care education, providing beauty regimens that are tailored to their desirable and beneficial product needs, and also, offering key artist techniques that enhance my clientele’s personal beauty in various ways that compliment! Now as an independent business owner, my beauty resume’ consist of being an Adjunct Instructor for The Gwynnis Mosby Makeup Academy by teaching students and beauty enthusiasts about the “Just Eyes” course in artistry. In my previous work history, I served as a Retail Sales Makeup Artist and Product Specialist with MAC Cosmetics, notably recognized as one of the top selling/highly most requested makeup artists in the ATL-2 Region (Cumberland Mall). I also managed both retail doors for Clinique and Estee’ Lauder Counters (Stonecrest Mall) in Stonecrest, Georgia. Locally and regionally, I also have had the honor of providing superior glam services for renowned professionals such as celebrities, actors/actresses, lawyers, doctors, non-profit organizations/charity directors, as well as everyday-career working women. I cheerfully serve my clientele through building client-based relationships with connecting through glamour events, proms, galas, weddings, theatrical, special occasions, birthdays, fashion shows, networking at fashion industry-related events and correlating with non-profit organizations that support the enhancement of self-esteem and confidence in young teens to adult women. I always show my clientele appreciation and thank them for constantly supporting me in my makeup business, as I am extremely grateful, and may God abundantly and exceedingly bless them! My business email is: glammedbylindsaymakeupartistry@gmail. com.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a tenured makeup artist, I have experienced struggles with job loss, not meeting quota in the cosmetic industry, and even faced criticism but I used every opportunity to focus on my strengths to propel me further in my career and let wisdom carry me into the next level.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in the makeup genres of Beauty, Special-Effects, Stage-play, Fashion/Editorial, TV/Film Production makeup with On-Set experience. I am most proud of my previous achievements of being globally recognized with MAC Cosmetics for becoming viral with promoting the limited life and cosmetics dedicated to the late R&B singer, “Aaliyah Dana Haughton”, as I was also reposted on www.maccosmetics.com, which is Makeup Art Cosmetics Company’s professional website. I am also known for being a professional makeup artist to glam celebrities such as Dr. Jackie Walters and Lisa Nicole Cloud of “Married to Medicine” and Tubi, music videos on YouTube, and also with recording artists such Chrisette Michelle, Q. Parker of 112, Anne Nesby of Sounds of Blackness, Reighndrop Lopez (sister of the late Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez” of TLC, Comedian Rodney Perry, and still counting. In my own opinion, the highest accomplishment is seeing my artistry on tv and film productions such as Tubi, stageplay makeup in theatre, and as also for The Bronze Lens Festival and Achievements.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I have learned that no matter what, if God is for me then who can be against me!!! Greater is HE that is within me!!! Psalms 91:11…For he shall give his angels charge over thee in all thy ways!!!
