Story & Lesson Highlights with Tyler Kidd of Metro Atlanta

We recently had the chance to connect with Tyler Kidd and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me feel proud was winning a singing competition called Cobb Idol at the Strand Theatre with one of my best friends,”Ellie Roth!”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tyler Kidd and I’m an Atlanta based singer, dance teacher, and musical theater performer! I’m currently a dance instructor and company director at Metro Atlanta Dance on the weekdays and I perform in Dead Man’s Party at Six Flags Over Georgia on the weekends for Fright Fest!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
A part of me that’s served its purpose but must now be released is me trying to prove myself to others.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I often change my mind when it comes to goals that I set for myself. The foundation of what I see for my life stays the same but when it comes to some of the specific things I want to accomplish, I’ll adjust them from time to time.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely on the idea of not taking unsolicited advice from someone that hasn’t accomplished something that I want to do in my life. I’ve found it best to take pointers from someone that is like minded as myself.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What light inside you have you been dimming?
The light inside me that I’ve been dimming is my voice. Although I don’t mean that from a perspective of me being a singer… more from the point of view of me having to remind myself that my voice matters.
