Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

Our providers are unrivaled in the Northwest Region of Georgia in our commitment to the support of body, mind and spirit.

We have 17 individual businesses under one roof. Services and classes include: 5 massage therapists, Neuromuscular Therapy, Clinical/Therapeutic Massage, Ashiatsu (Barefoot Massage), pregnancy, infant and pediatric massage, Medi-cupping, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and relaxation Massage. We have 5 estheticians offering facials, eyelash extensions and waxing and Japanese Head Spa, A Thermographic Technician who uses a digital camera to record infrared radiation emitted by the human body. A reiki Master (Energy Healer), and a Reflexologist. We also have a sensory deprivation tank (a float tank), a low pressure hyperbaric Chamber (Oxygen Therapy), Red light therapy, three foot therapies (ionic foot bath, revitive and shiatsu). We have a relaxation room where you lay on a mat of crystals and receive PEMF therapy. We offer sound baths, Yoga, Meditation, Public and Professional Educational Classes as well as TaiChi/qigong and Shaolin Kung-Fu training.

The therapies are chosen with these individuals in mind including a relaxation room with the safe and comforting therapeutic mat for rest and meditation. We also are proud to offer movement practices that are inclusive to all bodies; all shapes, sizes, and abilities. TerraMar strives to bring health and healing to a new level and make it accessible to more people in our community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting the word out on a very limited advertising budget. To be honest the current economic environment is rediculously challenging. Very little to no support for small businesses. We have so much to offer and have come so far but with all of the costs spiraling out of control with no end in sight. Utilities and taxes are skyrocketing and we don’t want to have to pass along the costs to our clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
There a lot of massage therapists around but we offer so much more than that. Most of our business owners are also artists. We have painters, sculptors, musicians, and dancers. We offer all kinds of art classes like foam carving, acrylic pours and art therapy. We regularly hold events that feature singers, song writers, poetry and story tellers.

I am most proud of the fact that we go out of our way to enrich our community. They might come for a massage, facial or other wellness services but they always come back to join in all the fun.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
My hope is that the wellness industry will be better accepted by the mainstream as we grow into a whole body approach with the focus on health and not on simply treating the symptoms of illness. So much can be done to help the amazing body heal itself and that is exactly as it should be. Drugs, shots, potions and surgeries often get in the way of real healing by masking the pain and problem but not touching the cause.

My biggest dream is that the Medical community continues to explore alternative methods of healing and continues to embrace clinical studies that prove the efficacy of whole body mind and spirit healing.
