We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tempestt “PEASIS” Edwards. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Tempestt “PEASIS”, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My relationship with GOD! Sometimes I get mixed reviews on Yoga from the group that I would love to be a part of and I’m not always received. And it’s a hard pill to swallow because I spend so much time with God in my stillness that I just want to witness and spread the word! But God is so intentional that he places me in spaces that allow me to witness to groups that are sometimes truly in need and then I realize that this was and has always been the plan!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Tempestt also known as Peace from Peasis. I am a trauma informed yoga instructor who utilizes everything in my life to promote and offer healing. I have created clothing lines that promote and speak to healing. I offer fresh fruit locally that I clean prep cut and sell from all of the local farmers markets in the metro area. I am a quilter and offer love filled quilts throughout the year. Peasis of me is the way that I live my life. All of the creative ways that have aided me in this journey I pretty much offer!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my daughter shaped how I see myself the most! She looks at me in this way it’s like she knows I can do ANYTHING sometimes she will request something and in my mind I’m like how, who do you think I am and somehow it happens between me and God! And I’m just stuck looking like little girl I wish I had as much faith in me as you do! But it forces me to push limits that I would rather stay away from lol
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Honestly I am asked this question often and honestly giving up seems a lot harder than just staying the path! I have partnered with so many businesses and I think about the impact of giving up would have and it’s way harder to give up in my opinion always has been! Since I was a kid I always felt like going backwards is more time consuming than making it to the desired location. As a millennial I walked to get every where so most of my references involve foot travel!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes what you see is what you get! I can have a bit of a potty mouth but I’m working on that part and don’t show that publicly at least I try not to!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes. I rolled out my yoga classes at Libraries across the metro area for free and could not get people to come. Right definitely a blow to the ego but that’s when I truly knew that I loved what I was doing, because I kept showing up even if it was only me I showed up trusting that I was building something amazing! And although it’s still growing I’m truly happy with things right now and have gained so many opportunities because of my consistency!
