We’re looking forward to introducing you to Taneisha Gordon. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Taneisha, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to fully step into my instructor era — developing curriculum and confidently teaching people what I know. I used to doubt my knowledge and question what I could truly offer, but my full-time work has pushed me to embrace it. I’m now creating courses that train the next generation of fitness instructors, and I’ve realized I know far more than I’ve given myself credit for. This is me leaning into my expertise, owning my value, and fully shining in what I do best.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Tani, the creative force behind Tani the Creator — a fitness and lifestyle brand where movement, music, and creativity collide. I’m a solo creator and instructor who designs high-energy experiences that blend dance, boxing, and core training with storytelling and style. What makes my brand unique is the fusion of fitness with artistry — every class, video, or event I create is about more than a workout; it’s about energy, expression, and connection.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my creative fitness content and live experiences — bringing people into spaces where they can move, feel, and have fun while tapping into their own power and confidence.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’m releasing the need to be everything to everyone. I’ve realized that constantly trying to please people — even through my business — has drained me and led to burnout. It served its purpose for a while, but now I’m learning to prioritize peace and authenticity over perfection and people-pleasing. I want to create and show up from a place of genuine passion, not pressure.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, absolutely. I’ve hit some real lows throughout my entrepreneurial journey. There have been times when I wasn’t getting clients, gyms offering fair pay weren’t hiring, or I was teaching 22 classes a week and still struggling to make ends meet. I’ve even been fired for speaking up for myself or overlooked because I don’t fit the “typical trainer” mold. Each setback made me question if this was truly my path — but none of it broke me. Every challenge taught me resilience and reminded me why I started. And even through the hard seasons, I’ve achieved so much that I’m proud of.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to the belief that movement matters. Finding movement you genuinely enjoy is what makes it sustainable. I want people to be present in the moment and move not because they’re chasing a certain look or goal, but because it feels good and brings them joy. My mission is to create impactful, one-of-a-kind experiences that combine movement and music to support the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of people of all ages — helping them disconnect from stress and reconnect with themselves through the power of movement.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m dancing outside on a beautiful day — the sun shining, soca music playing, the wind on my skin, and a smile on my face. In those moments, I’m fully present and just experiencing pure bliss.
