We’re looking forward to introducing you to Violette Meier. Check out our conversation below.
Violette, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Sitting outside in my backyard on a rock that I’ve decorated with smaller stones and purple lights. I feel close to God when I’m out there in silence, the wind tickling my skin, sun on my face, trees waving as I pray.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a happily married mother, writer, folk artist, poet, and native of Atlanta, Georgia, who earned my B.A. in English at Clark Atlanta University and an MDiv at the Interdenominational Theological Center. I am also a certified herbalist, a chaplain, and an educator.
Writing since my pre-teen years, I am the great-granddaughter of a dream interpreter who sparked my interest in the supernatural. Sitting at her feet as she wove the most amazing tales set my imagination aflame. I write paranormal, urban fantasy, fantasy, and horror fiction among other genres including inspiration, poetry, and children’s books. I am always working on something new. Currently, I am working on another short story collection.
My books are rich in folklore, myths, and legends with a diversity of characters.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’ve always been myself. I don’t let anyone define me.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Love hard and live free have been the defining words of my life. Love is all we have a freedom is a divine ordinance. I’ve healed through loving and accepting others as they are and allowing myself the liberty to evolve.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yep. What you see is what you get. I’m way to old and have too little time to create personas to entertainment others. People like genuine people and I try to be as real as possible.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Working for people and on projects I’m not passionate about.
